We begin with whole cuts of meat, grinding them in-house for the juiciest burgers, and hand-crumb our chicken schnitzels for that perfect, crispy

bite. We also bake our own delicious pies, filled with hearty ingredients and flaky, golden crusts. Our sauces, from creamy hollandaise to flavourful garlic, are made from scratch, ensuring every element is perfectly balanced. We believe in traditional methods & honest ingredients—rich tallow for frying, real butter for that extra depth of flavour, & of course, quality coffee. Experience the difference in every bite & sip. We're here Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm, bringing Edenhope food and drinks you can always trust.

Hi everyone,

Our planned two-week break has turned into four, and we know everyone is keen to know when we’ll be back open. Unfortunately, it won't be anytime soon.

We are so proud of the space we built here in town, the top-tier fit-out we put in, and the way you all embraced The Early Bird from day one. We want nothing more than for the shop to keep running and for the town to keep enjoying it, but that means finding a way for it to stay open without us.

Circumstances have shifted, and it simply isn't possible for us to be behind the counter. Finn’s journey with dialysis has turned out to be much more complex than we first imagined, involving ongoing trips to Melbourne and a demanding at-home routine. We've been told to expect a kidney transplant in the next 6 to 12 months, which will mean relocating to Melbourne full-time for at least a few months. Even looking past the surgery, it would be a couple of years before we could realistically run the café ourselves again—and we don't want to keep the doors closed for that long.

Because we want this place to keep thriving for the community, we are exploring our options right now to find someone else who wants to lease the business or buy the freehold.

If you know of anyone who has always wanted to walk straight into a fully operational, high-end kitchen and take over, please get in touch with us.

WELL THAT'S A WRAP!!

We are now closed for a couple of weeks, while we sort Finn out at RCH.

A huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who has popped in or messaged to offer their support and wish us well.

It has been a whirlwind few days after getting his bloods checked on Tuesday, so thanks for the support (and sorry to anyone who was holding out for a silverside pie today - with everything going on when I cooked the filling last night, it wasn't its usual burst of flavours. I honestly not sure where I went wrong, but it happens. We hope the freebie today softened the blow and I confident the next batch will be back to top notch!)
