The Early Bird Edenhope We're bringing back the authentic flavour you know and love. We grind our own meat for our burgers, bake our own pies, and serve coffee that’s always on point.

To us, that means real ingredients, unreal flavour. That's what we do. We begin with whole cuts of meat, grinding them in-house for the juiciest burgers, and hand-crumb our chicken schnitzels for that perfect, crispy

bite. We also bake our own delicious pies, filled with hearty ingredients and flaky, golden crusts. Our sauces, from creamy hollandaise to flavourful garlic, are made from scratch, ensuring every element is perfectly balanced. We believe in traditional methods & honest ingredients—rich tallow for frying, real butter for that extra depth of flavour, & of course, quality coffee. Experience the difference in every bite & sip. We're here Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm, bringing Edenhope food and drinks you can always trust.

You’ve likely noticed the bread we serve here—the various sourdough loaves, the deli focaccia, and the ciabatta—is a little bit special. I wanted to share the story of why that is.

Back in 2003, I was managing a Laurent patisserie in Melbourne. I saw firsthand how they operated, and frankly, their bread was the benchmark.

Twenty years later, when we opened The Early Bird, I knew the best way to maintain that same Melbourne-standard quality was to partner with them again.

I’m a chef, not a baker, so I prefer to leave the complex, traditional bread work to the experts. We source our range from Laurent’s wholesale division; they deliver us beautiful, par-baked artisan loaves that we then finish fresh in our ovens every day.

It’s an honest partnership that allows us to stay focused on what we do best, while giving you the quality you deserve. It’s our way of sticking to our motto: real food, unreal flavour.

TOMORROW IS FRIDAY WHICH MEANS NOT ONLY IS IT BURGER NIGHT, BUT ITS OPEN MIC NIGHT AT THE EARLY BIRD.

Led by Rob Tuncks and our sous chef, Sam Grey, open night kicks off from 7pm and is open to anyone.

As for the burgers, you know the drill - for pre-orders DM me or pop instore before 3pm tomorrow (Friday). Otherwise we will see you instore tomorrow from 6pm.
