With each new term and season we have to remember to thank the little humans behind the scenes that make working with food, farmers and families worth it. We’re always training the next generation to take over our little fair food business one day (joking, not joking). Work is slower when you have to stop and build a robot veggie cardboard dude, or wheel a stack of veggies together to the van, or when you have to pause packing to make a crate train. Stopping for silliness is always worth it. Maybe some things are learnt along the way but it’s not really the point. And it’s lucky we love kids and playfulness because our small team is shrinking and our families are growing. More edigrocer babies have just landed (Welcome Rufus!) and some more are on the way! ❤️

✨There is a special delivery feeling you get when you step outside to find your weekly fruit and veggies waiting on your door step. We are currently delivering 150 weekly boxes to families within just 5km of our small but mighty shop (deliveries between Aspendale, Edithvale, Chelsea, Bonbeach, and a few sneaky boxes in Aspendale Gardens and Chelsea Heights. Plus to some lovely staff at Cornish College ). Some of our weekly families have been with us for the whole 10 years. Living and loving seasonal local organic produce direct from our farming friends 🫶 Thanks for being part of the box magic week after week.

🕯️ Love that we can come together with Merrie McCulloch to spark a little bit of magic with tonight’s joyful painting workshop. Watercolour paintings of this seasons curvy pumpkins, plump tangelos and bouquets of kale and purple broccoli. Thanks for celebrating the produce Merrie ❤️ long time veg friend but first time sharing this space - definitely not the last!

We have to remind ourselves to celebrate the little business we built 10 years ago so when we got invited to the Small Biz Awards we hesitated and then were like umm no… we have to head along. We met other local folk, had a rare evening out and were reminded that small businesses quietly run da world from homes, dying suburban shopping strips & rural towns. Small is strong. Small is mighty. Oh, and we received a commendation for Excellence in Small Business. As always thanks to the farmers and families that make our wheels turn every week - season in season out.

⚡️Beep beep. We’ve spent ten years perfecting our weekly veg box deliveries- from designing what’s in the box to sharing our lives with the awesome local and organic growers we visit every week, to the lean thinking around delivery logistics or the kind of collapsible crates we pack into, and ofcourse what epic electric van we drive. This month we’ve been averaging 150 weekly deliveries including a new school drop. We live for perfecting the weekly rhythm and feel stoked to see big stacks of veg boxes rolling out the back ramp and into our van.

It’s been so much fun to work with the crew .farms.coop to bring their veggie box deliveries to life together! 🫶 Not sure if you know but we just love sharing our box packing joy and all the lean systems they go into a box with farmers and friends. Plus we have learnt so much by watching their box packing flow it’s been inspiring and given us some great ideas for future boxes and box consulting.. watch this space.
