KEBABS ON BELL 🥙

I’ve heard a lot about the kebabs , but I can confidently say these are the best in Melbourne!

There’s a reason people rave about this place. After meeting Furkan and hearing the story behind his family business, I realised there’s a lot more to it than just great food.

The family history goes back to 1986, and one thing that really sets this place apart is the fresh Turkish bread, made in-house by Furkan’s mum. He even took me through to see her making it, which was awesome to witness. Honestly, this bread is on another level and makes such a difference to the entire meal 🤤

I kicked things off with the mixed kebab, and from that first bite, I understood exactly why people have been talking about this place. The meat was packed with flavour and paired with that incredible bread, it was an absolute winner 🔥

Next was the mixed doner meal, followed by the Lamb Kusbasi, which was my favourite. The feta and spinach pastry was tasty too, and I finished with their traditional Lahmacun. Every dish had something to offer, but the Lamb Kusbasi and mixed kebab were the standouts for me.

What impressed me just as much as the food was hearing about Furkan’s commitment to giving back to the community. Through the Kebabs on Bell Foundation, $1 from every kebab sold goes towards charity. That’s something I genuinely respect, and Furkan himself is an absolute legend 💙

By the time I finished eating, I was full as a boot! Furkan even brought out some seasoned hot chips, which looked fantastic, but they had to come home with me 😂

Of course, I couldn’t leave without buying two of their massive Turkish breads for the family. They’re only $8 each, and people were coming in to grab them to take home for family dinners and gatherings. Mum eventually pulled one out of the freezer, heated it up with garlic, cheese and fresh tomato, and it tasted as fresh as the day it was made. How good is that? ❤️

This was genuinely one of the best Turkish feeds I’ve had, and I’ll definitely be back. Great food, a fantastic family story and a business that gives back to its community.

CAFFE SPUNTINO 🥪

I headed to Caffe Spuntino to try three of their panini. Although spuntino means a snack or light meal in Italian, there was nothing light about this feast! 😂

John is the owner, with Nardz running the Panino Bar and sharing her love of panini. After trying three of her creations, it’s easy to see the passion that goes into them.

I kicked things off with the Polpetti, followed by the Cotoletta, which quite possibly stole the show for me! Then came the Quattro Carne, definitely saving the biggest for last 😂

Of course, I wasn’t leaving without dessert. If there’s one sweet treat I love almost as much as cheesecake, it’s fresh cannoli! I tried the vanilla, chocolate and ricotta flavours, all finished off with one of John’s recommendations, the café crema ☕️

What a delicious spread from start to finish! If you love a good panino, Caffe Spuntino is well worth checking out. But don’t just take my word for it, go and try it for yourself!

SQUARE SLICED SMASH DOWN CHALLENGE 🍕🔥
At Ages Ristorante Pizzeria in Werribee, Melbourne

INGREDIENTS
🍕 12x Capricciosa
🍕 12x Val’s Special
🥤 Choc Tim Tam Mega Shake

PRIZES
⏱️ Finish within the time limit and the meal is FREE!

RESULTS
The current record is held by JWebby Can Eat with a crazy time of 8:04, and only one other person has managed to finish this challenge, just within the 30-minute time limit, doing it with a basic Margherita 🧀

I went with half Capricciosa and half Val’s Special, and I can definitely say these slices are absolutely loaded with toppings. They’re delicious, and you’re definitely getting your money’s worth when you order a pizza from Ages.

As soon as I took my first sip of that Choc Tim Tam Mega Shake, I knew there was no chance of getting anywhere near the record. It was so thick and icy cold that it just wouldn’t go down in a hurry. I honestly don’t know how I didn’t get a brain freeze! 😂🥶

But I still managed to power through all 24 slices and the Mega Shake in 10:15, which is a great time, especially knowing how much topping these slices have and how icy cold and thick that Mega Shake is.

Ages Pizza has been a family business for almost 30 years, and it’s easy to see why they’ve been around for so long 🍕😋

Ok here it is! 🍔🍟🥤

Once again Frank Tank and I were lucky enough to be invited back out to Brownboyzburgers in Seaton to create another Burger of the Month for October 📅

Our goal was simple: make this burger bigger and tastier than anything else in the $22.00 price range 🧐

We’re calling this one "The Triple" ❤️❤️❤️
🍔 Soft seeded bun
🥩 Triple Beef
🧀 Triple Cheese
🥒 Fresh Pickles
🥫 Special sauce & Tomato sauce

Honestly, this is a top-tier burger and unreal value for the size & quality 😎👌

While we were there, we were also spoilt with a serve of Sweet Potato & Fried Chicken loaded fries oozing with liquid cheese sauce 😋

IS THIS AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST BANH MI?! 👀🔥

When Marcus Costanzo put together his creation, the Pàrm Mì, he brought together two Adelaide favourites, Banh Mi and Chicken Parmi, in an epic collaboration with Real Rolls.

When it came time to tackle the giant version, Marcus knew exactly who to call! 😂💪 And after getting stuck into this absolute monster, I can confirm it wasn’t just massive, it tasted unreal! 🔥

Had an awesome time joining Marcus and the “Be The One” boys and helping them get this beast finished. We had a lot of laughs with this video, so make sure to watch it till the end!

And if you want to get your hands on the Pàrm Mì yourself, the regular-size version will be available at Real Rolls this Saturday & Sunday, October 4 & 5, for $18.50.

Thankfully, you won’t need four blokes to finish yours 😂

Why I go to Adelaide 🤤

Most people know I have a passion for bodybuilding and my many years of competing, but they also know I have a serious love for food.

And it’s not just about eating a lot of it… I can eat it pretty bloody fast too! 🦸🏻‍♂️😂

I love bodybuilding, training in the gym and sticking to a meal plan to fuel my body, but when it’s time to unleash on a food challenge, I have a hell of a lot of fun with it.

Adelaide is a beautiful place, and it definitely gives me plenty of opportunities to do just that 😎

YOU WANT THE REAL DEAL SHAWARMA?

Haddad’s Shawarma has got you covered! Michael has taken these shawarma wraps to another level, with a crunch you won’t find anywhere else and that homemade garlic sauce is second to none.

I worked my way through three wraps: the Tawouk chicken, lamb skewer and Kafta. Being double-wrapped keeps everything tight and compact with no spillage, so you get all those flavours in every bite 😋

I already knew how good the chips were from last time, and they didn’t disappoint. That crispy coating and crunch is something else… these would have to be the best chips I’ve come across in Adelaide.
