Winter Solstice is the 20th June and I think Saturday this year.

This is the shortest day and afterwards days get longer. Gardeners like me look forward to seeing our plant friends flower again.

Winter blooms not as plentiful but I do so enjoy the challenge of finding them and creating bouquets every week through the year.

So I'm finding Thryptomene, red hot Pokers, Tea tree, Proteas, Poinsettia coloured leaves ( tiny flowers), Jonquils, Hellebores very soon and the odd Cymbidium Orchid flower spike with more to come.

Calling garden groups and plant lovers this coming spring The Tranquil Garden Nursery is again inviting visits from you all.

Situated on the Bulga Plateau near Ellenborough Falls the Nursery is a great spot for Garden groups and other plant lovers to take a stroll , have a planned morning tea with your group and peruse the plants grown on-site.

Plants include Clivia miniata, Hellebores, Dahlias ( tuber sales yes), , Orchids, Australian natives, fruit trees, potted and loose flower bulbs galore and many flowering perennials.

Cymbidium Orchid bloom. Love seeing them and using them in flower bouquets. Did you know I supply flowers all year for bouquets. Yes there are fewer flowers but boy they are such a wonder to see in the winter garden.

The last of my Mums eggplant that I gave to a lovely guy who regularly buys produce from my garden and my Mums. Such sweet miniature ones some of then were.

Flowers for the lovely Robyn who has the most gorgeous dog whom I adore catching up.with.

I deliver spray free produce and flowers in Elands and also to town on a weekly basis. Are the produce and flowers you buy spray free?

I charge very reasonable prices and for most areas only a $5 delivery fee.

Soon Seville oranges will be available, currently there are limes, lemons, lots of greens, pumpkins while stocks last and loads of herbs.

Lemons yellowing up well, limes aplenty too as well.as Kale and other goodies.

I'm so dissapointed in the Dahlias this year. Up here at 600m they've been slow to bloom , the cooler weather affecting them , then those really warm days.

And it's other people's Dahlia patches aren't performing well up here.

My love and Cricket are two white Dahlia varieties grown here at The Tranquil Garden Nursery.

Last night's party remnants being investigated by Miranda dog.

My favourite type of party hosted by the fruit bats and possums.

Did you know thunder, fireworks and other thumping noises set off a flight and fight response In many animals and could disrupt breeding cycles.

That's why I like these types of parties with sounds of nature.

Christie Merlot on left and Urica on the right. I have some spare potted Christie Merlot, a variety popular with florists last year.

So I've planted a lot of these, My love white and many other lovelies.

Grown at 600m above sea level here in Elands, drop me a message and come see the flowers especially if you are a florist or want Dahlias to plant. I'm still.planting mine out so it'll be a nice long season of blooms this year.
