DAY 4

Today’s mission: stop Honey from making regular unauthorised visits to the neighbours. 🤣🐕

First stop, of course… Bunnings. Because apparently no day at Chibi Grove is complete without a trip there. 😂

Then it was time for fence repairs — three separate spots where Honey had discovered her own private border crossings. Hopefully immigration control is a little tighter now. 🤣

After that, more chainsaw work and slashing the front half of the property. 🌳🪚🚜

Another day covered in dust, sweat and grass clippings… basically the official Chibi Grove uniform at this point. 😂

Honey is currently reviewing the fence upgrades and looking for the next weakness. 👀🐕

DAY 3 🌱🍋

Finished the wire protection around the yuzu trees that we didn’t quite get done yesterday — hopefully that means the possums and rabbits are officially locked out of the buffet! 😂

We also gave soil testing a go today. Very scientific stuff… lots of shaking bottles, staring at colours, and pretending we knew exactly what we were doing. 🤣🧪

And the chainsaw work? That’s definitely becoming Kana’s department. She’s getting a little too comfortable with it now… 🪚🤣

Another day of sweat, dirt, problem-solving and questionable decisions at Chibi Grove — and honestly, we’re loving it. ❤️

🌱 DAY 2 – The first step for Chibi Grove! 🍋

We finally got the yuzu trees planted today!! 🎉
It feels like the very first real step in creating Chibi Grove.

We only managed to get the protective wire around one row today, so tomorrow’s mission is to finish the rest.

Now we just have to hope that when we wake up tomorrow morning, all the little yuzu trees are still standing there looking happy… and haven’t become an overnight buffet for the possums and rabbits. 😂🐇

Fingers crossed they survive their first night at Chibi Grove! 🤞🌱🍋

DAY 1 🍋🌱

Everything’s ready to plant the yuzu trees tomorrow! We’ve marked out the spots 4 metres apart, the auger is on the tractor, and we brought the second IBC up from Brisbane today. 💪🚜

The yuzu trees have also officially been evicted from their temporary home in Shan’s shower shed. 🤣
Shan: “You’re getting planted tomorrow, so get out of my shower!” 😂

Picked up 10 yuzu trees from the Sunshine Coast today! 🍋🌱

Another 4 are on the way, so we’ll be planting all 14 at Chibirin Farm next weekend.

It’s finally happening — the beginning of our little yuzu farm! 😄🌳🍋

Neighbours did some burning off to clear yesterday, but there was some excitement when the fireys showed up. Perhaps a permit issue…

昨日、近所で野焼きをしてたんだけど、消防が来てちょっとした騒ぎに。もしかして許可の問題だったのかな……。
