Singing Creek macadamias are produced by the Howden family in the beautiful Nambucca Valley. We employ a mix of conventional and regenerative practices on our farm, utilising both organic and commercial input and an integrated pest management system. We would be happy to discuss any aspect of our farming, and would love to show you around our piece of paradise- we love what we do and are extremel

y proud of our product. This page will be used to share news and photos from our farm, as well as more broadly the macadamia industry. I would also love it to be used as a place where questions, observations, and most importantly recipes could be shared (it's all about the food-right?)

The last Friday market for now as Eungai Creek Farmers' Market trials a Saturday morning market from next week. For those who bought our macadamia dukkah today, the promised recipe. At some point I'll include an actual photo of the dish, but for now enjoy Lucien Freud's 'A plate of prawns'

Australian Native Stingless Bees

Native bees are terrific little creatures that are perfectly suited to work amongst the native plants in our gardens and orchard. Most native bees are solitary in nature but some are social and create complex hives that can be kept and managed.

We have been building our number of native bee hives slowly over the years to assist with pollination around the farm. This could be increasingly important in the future with the threat varroa mite poses to the European honey bees (native bees are not susceptible to varroa mite).

We now have a limited number of hives with bees for sale that are excess to our needs. We can help with setting up a hive at your property, provide general native bee advice and also offer a hive splitting service. Please message Dave if you would like any further details.

This magnificent cassia brewsteri is one of my favourite trees-each October it is covered with red-orange racemes and is abuzz with giant carpenter bees. Every year I collect the pods, seek advice on how to propagate, and do nothing, except this year.
I have optimistically sown about 300 seeds, using the three different methods I was advised to by three different people whose opinions I treasure.
The pile of pods is what I have left over- each pod has between 10-30 seeds- I am happy to share these and all the advice I have been given to anyone who wants them...I'm in Eungai, going to Woopi tomorrow and Kempsey frequently so can drop off
