Winter is coming ❄️ ⛄️ woohooo

Nearly a dozen locations in Victoria have recorded their coldest ever overnight temperatures for this time of the year, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

One of those sites, in northern Victoria, broke a record that had stood for more than 110 years.

The coldest recorded morning temperature on Sunday, April 19, was in Omeo in Victoria's east.

There, the mercury dipped to -2 Celsius.

It also dropped below freezing in Yarrawonga, in northern Victoria, as well — reaching -0.5C.

Temperatures at those sites have been recorded for 22 and 33 years respectively.

It was in Kerang where the longest-running record tumbled on Sunday.

The temperature dropped to 1.8C, making it the coldest morning in 112 years for this time of year.

The BOM said they're new record low temperatures for this time of the year, this far from winter.
