Seasonal flowers are flowers that are naturally grown and harvested in their particular season & climate. They come and go throughout the year, giving us something different to look forward to with every season.

This stunning Stock quartet (can you believe this is just one stem?) is a winter flower, as are tulips, for example.

So, if you find these flowers being sold in the middle of summer, chances are they’ve been imported.

This is why it’s so important to ask where your flowers are from.

Imported flowers can travel thousands of kilometres before they reach you not to mention what they’ve been sprayed with so they can make the distance.

Meanwhile, seasonal flowers grown here are harvested at their natural peak, right when they’re meant to be flowering. Giving you fresher & longer lasting blooms.

And honestly, that’s what makes seasonal flowers so special. You have to wait for them.

Statice is a must grow for us. We absolutely love it.

This has been our best season yet, metre long stems and the fluffiest, most beautiful flower heads.

And the best part? Sprayed with lots of love, not chemicals.

It’s something worth thinking about when you buy flowers. Many imported flowers are grown using chemical pesticides and treatments, and can be treated again after harvest to help them survive the long journey into Australia.

When you buy locally grown flowers, you can ask your grower exactly how they’re grown and where they’ve come from.

Today Mikey was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation
from David Waddell APM
Assistant Commissioner NSW Police Force.

In recognition of his courageous actions on Monday 30 September 2024.
On this date, police officers became engaged in a violent and prolonged struggle with a male who had crashed his vehicle and fled the scene. The offender resisted arrest, attempted to disarm both officers, and continued fighting despite the use of a Taser, placing the officers in significant danger.
While driving past, Mr Sheeran observed the confrontation and, without hesitation, stopped his vehicle and intervened. At personal risk, he assisted the fatigued officers by helping to restrain the offender and secure his arms, enabling police to successfully handcuff him despite continued resistance.
Mr Sheeran’s decisive actions directly contributed to the safe resolution of a volatile and dangerous incident. His courage and willingness to assist reflect the highest standards of community spirit and are highly commendable.

I may of teared up while they read this out and afterwards the amount of police officers who came up to shake Mikes hand who saw the body cam footage thanking him for his actions was touching.
