🥚 The Great Uncrackable Egg… solved 😂

To whoever brought this mystery egg back last week claiming it was uncrackable — thank you for the entertainment.

We put it to the test… rolled it straight over to Rob at Nomadic Kitchen (because let’s be honest, the man cracks about 100 eggs a market morning 🍳).

And well…
CRACK 💥

Turns out Rob is stronger than we thought — or maybe the egg just knew who it was dealing with 😆

Watch the moment it met its match

450 first steps into the pasture.

Yesterday, they’d never seen grass.
Today, it’s a full sensory experience… curious pecks, wobbly steps, and a whole lot of “what is this?!”

Safe to say, the girls are settling in just fine. From pasture to pasta starts right here!

Happy Birthday Woodland Valley Farm 🚜💚

Seven years ago we opened the door on our very first chicken caravan, releasing around 90 hens onto our pastures.

From those first hens it has been quite the journey... , guided by a commitment to our farm, and delicious food. Driven by purpose, hard work, and the realisation that what we are doing is valuable for our land, ecosystem, our community, and connection.

Regenerating land, producing real food, and building community. 💚🐔

A huge thank you to our wonderful and supportive customers, our incredible team, and our network of friends and farmers who make what we do so meaningful every single day.
😊

Friday night Chook School!

With new girls on the farm it's time to break some bad habits.

These girls have spent the first 16 weeks of their life on the floor of a barn.

We need them to tuck up safely in their caravans every night so that when it's moving day it's nice and easy for us.

It normally takes a few nights depending on the how stub8on the flock is.

It's closing time.

Every week rain hail or shine the girls get moved to fresh grass.

We close them up at night then bright and early tomorrow they'll be moved before being opened up to a whole new world of grass and bugs.
