Over the years supermarkets have always steered away from Border Leicester X Merino lambs for various reasons.

This year we had a client who sold Inverbrackie sired BL X M wether lambs to one of the major supermarkets. In follow up conversations the question was asked if they would have them again next year?
The answer was yes if they have the same shape, conformation and finish.

This is a great example of what a Modern Border Leicester is capable of in a break from tradition.

It was good to host these international visitors who are experiencing an extra 4 Lambex days before it starts

Looking forward into the future we can see methane measurements becoming important for ewe flocks. So beginning the data collection now should mean our clients are on the front foot with their ability to choose low emission rams to breed lower emission first cross ewes without sacrificing key traits of growth and reproduction.

Over the last couple of weeks our animals have a presented us with the best raw data that Inverbrackie has achieved.

The adult ewes scanned at 189% fetuses on board and 4% dry.

The ram lambs were micron tested and we had a Border Leicester ram come in at 21.9 micron with a comfort factor of 91.9. The mob average was 28.5 micron
