🐾 Honouring Combat Assault Dog Fax — The Definition of a Warrior
On 6 January 2013, Combat Assault Dog Fax from the Special Air Service Regiment did what legends do — he got his bite on.

Fax located and took down an armed insurgent, stopping the threat so his team could move in. One moment of pure instinct, courage, and controlled aggression turned a dangerous situation into a win for his mates. That’s what protectors do.

During the engagement, Fax was tragically mortally wounded despite every effort to save him. His actions reflected the highest standards of the SASR and the , and he was posthumously awarded the Australian Animal Distinguished Service Medal for his gallantry during Operation SLIPPER.

Heroes like Fax remind us that some warriors fight with teeth, heart, and unbreakable loyalty. They run toward danger so others don’t have to.
