🐮 Probiotics… farm style! 😂
Today’s job was giving this little 24-hour-old calf some natural yoghurt to help support a healthy gut biome and get those good bacteria established. I haven’t tried the natural yoghurt before, but I’ve got it on good authority that it can be a great farm hack to help upset tummies.
Simple enough… until the piping bag (my idea 🫣) split. 🤦♂️💥
Suddenly the calf, Bow and half the surrounding paddock were getting the probiotic treatment! 😂
Meanwhile, mum Windrush has been an absolute superstar. ❤️ After showing signs of mastitis, she has calmly let us milk her out right there in the paddock — no halter required — and allowed us to stomach-tube her calf with a good dose of clean milk, also sitting in the middle of the paddock with no restraints.
Such an amazing temperament and a beautiful mum. She seems to know we’re there to help.
