Absolutely!
Who's the king of the castle?
For those of you who are wondering if anything has changed at Harmony Farm...
We left Harmony Farm in Caitlyn and Andrew's capable hands during our recent trip to Hobart. I think Minnie approves.
I got the first two on film and then got busy delivering the third. Three big healthy bubs and she needed help but a good outcome in the end.
And.... the final kid count is 26 with triplets for Margaret just now.
A stunning morning here at the farm, made more beautiful by the art installation created by our resident spiders. Organic farming creates abundance in every way.
I look like a bag lady but that's what a fifty year old goat farmer looks like.
Our 5th set of triplets were born this morning to Greta. The kid count should be 23 but sadly one of the little bucklings from an earlier set of triplets passed away last night. The mother only had one kid last time and was completely overwhelmed with 3 in the beginning. We worked hard with her, so that she would feed him, and things seemed to be going well but we're thinking he didn't get enough colostrum in the first 12 hours. The frustrating thing is, he was a good size and really healthy. So... 22 with one doe left to kid.
The count is now 20. Twins born at 2am this morning to Loulou on her namesake's Louisa Tyrell's birthday. Gotta love synchronicity. ❤
The count is now 18 with a set of twins born this evening to Vera. Three does left to kid, hopefully not until tomorrow as the kidding pens are all full.
Minnie the lap goat. 🤣
13 and counting.
Twins for Jenny. The second twin was breach and a bit distressed which explains the yellow poo all over her. I cleared her airway really well and she'll be just fine.
This is what we commonly refer to as baby goatplegia- an inability to do anything due to sleeping baby goat.
Say hello to Minnie. A doeling from the set of triplets born yesterday. She's really tiny, about 1/3 the size of her brother and sister. She's not good at suckling and can't compete for a teat with her much bigger siblings. We're also concerned she'll be trodden on. We'd said we'd never do it but we've decided to move her to the laundry and bottle feed her inside.
Third lot of triplets in three days. Too tired to take photos.
We have our first set of triplets on the farm. Two doelings and a buckling to Glyni. Pictures to follow.
Our first goats off to the abattoir. One for us and two for Inglis River Meats.
Having a bit of fun packaging our free-range eggs.
The best thing about living on Harmony Farm is sharing it with others. It was such a pleasure to spend the past few days with our beautiful friends and such kindred spirits.
Interesting that we had lots of these just after we built the shouse and then the house. Now we rarely see one.
Oniscidae; You may have found them under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered why they exist in nature.
Well, let me tell you, these animals oniscidae, better known as cochineal, are a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals to the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. they contribute to the cleansing of the soil and groundwater and reaffirm the wisdom of nature.
Do not damage them or spray pesticides!
Zucchini chocolate cake. Mmmmm...
Beans glorious beans! 1kg every second day.
It's a simple meal but a first for us. Everything on this plate was grown here on the farm. It doesn't get much better than this. 😄
Our third hatch for the year. Two weeks old and just graduated to the larger enclosure.
January has been a busy month on the farm.
Our year's supply of garlic harvested and dried ready for storage. 😋
The last supper.
Our little baby girls are 4 1/2 months old and heading to their new home tomorrow. We will miss them but look forward to more babies in May.

For those of you who are wondering if anything has changed at Harmony Farm...
Our third hatch for the year. Two weeks old and just graduated to the larger enclosure.
Eleven out of twelve eggs hatched. Unfortunately one chick died in the final stages of incubation. Not bad odds for our first hatch.
Our newest members of the Harmony Farm family. Four 3 day old calves from the neighbouring organic dairy farm. We will welcome 16 more over the coming weeks. Busy but joyful days ahead.
Rob's new version of the song "my girl". He used to sing this song to me...now it's all about the goats. 🤣
Kidding season has finally come to an end at Harmony Farm with twin girls for Loulou. We have 19 live kids- 10 girls and 9 boys. We are celebrating our first full night's sleep in several weeks and loving our daily baby goat cuddles. Life doesn't get any better than this. 😁
