You can treasure the closeness and still crave some space.

You can feel grateful that breastfeeding is working and still find it exhausting.

Because exhaustion isn’t necessarily a sign that something is wrong with breastfeeding—or that you’re not coping.

Often, breastfeeding is going perfectly. What’s exhausting is trying to meet the very normal needs of a baby within a modern lifestyle that expects mothers to do far too much, with far too little rest and support.

You were never meant to feed, nurture and carry your baby while also keeping up with everything else as though nothing had changed.

You can want to continue and still wish it didn’t all feel so heavy sometimes.

Mixed feelings don’t make you ungrateful and feeling exhausted doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Breastfeeding may not be the problem. You may simply need more care around you, too. 💗
