🔹MELBOURNE ROYAL SHOW 2026🔹

🏆 Reserve Junior Champion Bull - Kawala View Wrangler (14 months)

4th in his class - Kawala View Wisdom (13 months)

🥉3rd in her class - Kawala View Voodoo (24 months), Kawala View Xanadoo

We are so proud of the first bulls we have ever produced and shown- It was very interesting to have two different types of bulls go head to head. Wrangler was more refined, while Wisdom showed more muscle pattern. Overall Wrangler performed better showcasing his length and structure.

As always it’s been a pleasure to return to such a prestigious show! We love to see such a high standard of cattle across all breeds. Every credit goes out to all the breeders, exhibitors, staff, volunteers and supporters.

Thank you to everyone for helping out and making the show a lot of fun 😎

TWO FUTURE STUD SIRES

Here at Kawala View Lowlines we are exhilarated by the opportunity to feature two young bulls that we strongly believe have a bright future ahead.

Kawala View Wisdom and Kawala View Wrangler two registered young bulls that we believe have the qualities to make excellent additions to a breeding program.

Both bulls have quiet easy-going temperaments, great feet, plenty of natural beef and backed by champion bloodlines.

They’ll both be hitting the show ring at the Melbourne Show on Wednesday,30th September , so if you’re interested in either bull, come and see them for yourself and pick your favourite.

I’m very proud of these two young bulls we have produced at Kawala View. After nearly 25 years of breeding Australian Lowlines, we had never produced a bull that we were able to retain. With not getting any heifers last year, we decided to keep these two boys—and we’re certainly glad we did!

Both bulls have exceptional temperaments, great feet and legs, and are developing into two very promising young sires. They are different types of bulls from different bloodlines, which makes comparing them even more interesting.

I decided to invest in scales so we could accurately track their progress and collect data along the way. Both boys have been run on grass with a grain supplement, and their weight gains have been remarkably a close match.

I’d love to know—which bull do you prefer?

The boys will go head-to-head in the same class at the Royal Melbourne Show, so it will be interesting to see how they compare in the show ring with a Judge.

Always a great feeling seeing plenty of grass and happy cows after two tough years.

Our weekly strip grazing is really starting to make a difference to the paddocks, and every year we’re seeing the benefits in our grass growth, ground cover and overall pasture health with out spending money on fertilising and seeding.

Always great to hear from happy customers!

He’s always bragging about his little cows with how docile and friendly they are which I’m proud to say we sold to him in calf last year. They’ve now got their own 8-month-old calves at foot and are looking fantastic!

I’m also excited to be leasing our bull out to him again this year. It’s great to see our cattle continuing to perform well and bring joy to others.

With the Royal Canberra Show wrapped up and as always, a great show on the grass we’re very happy with how the week played out.

A huge thank you to Matt for his help. It’s never easy doing these shows from an island, so the support behind the scenes means a lot. Thanks as well to everyone else who lent a hand.

We only took one animal this year — Kawala View Voodoo, 18 months old — and she certainly didn’t disappoint. Voodoo is named after her great-grandmother, Pandela Park Voodoo, one of our foundation cows, which makes her success even more special.

Last year at Canberra she was a calf at foot and was called the best calf of the class in a huge feature show. Since then she’s gone:

🏆 Reserve Junior Champion Heifer – Royal Melbourne
🏆 Reserve Junior Champion Heifer – Royal Geelong
🏆 Reserve Junior Champion Heifer – Royal Canberra

Three Royals. Back to back to back.

She’s structurally correct, naturally stands perfectly, and carries herself with a calm, quiet temperament which makes my job in the ring easy and can take the showmanship out of it🤪.

Next stop: Royal Melbourne again, hopefully with a calf at foot as she steps into her senior career.

Very proud of this girl.

Grass is starting to dry up, so we left this paddock locked up until last. It’s got plenty of cover, which helps slow the drying and keeps it green underneath. We’re running weekly strip grazing here you can see where the last move was.
