Emma is a very resourceful young Lady, preparing a power point presentation for her grandparents and parents on why she should be allowed to get cows. It was obviously very good because today she got first pick of the steers. They will be weaned and halter trained in November and delivered in time for Christmas. Well done Emma and congratulations to Muffin and Milo on your new furever home.

A few more pictures from judging day. I was very lucky to have Phil and Sarah from Tassie give me a hand along with Lucy and Danii. Judging goes so quickly it is hard to take it all in. Big thanks to Scotty's transport for getting the animals home given the truck was going that way. The show team are back in general population so the bulls had to confirm their place in the pecking order. Theo knows he's top dog and didn't participate but Vincent had to put Porterhouse and Sirlion in their place. The yearlings just got on with the job of eating. Can't wait to get back into the ring next year but for now time for a holiday.

Ricky Baker has a girlfriend! Winsome is a runt, much smaller than the other heifers and she was never quite accepted by them. She will not make a breeder so might as well make her a pet. They are kindred spirits and are joined at the hip. So good for them to be gaining confidence, and weight, with some extra treats.

It has been a full on day and the cows have earned their rest. Great results with all three winning their class and Vanessa getting reserve Champion female with some stiff competition. The adrenalin is slowly wearing off and I think I will sleep well tonight.

Show Day. Up by 4.30 to get cows washed and dried and then Veronica worked her magic with the clippers to have them looking their best. Not in the ring until later this afternoon so a bit of time to get ready. So happy Lael arrived to show me where the CWA Cafe was and the bacon and egg burger was amazing.

Day 4 at Ekka. Usual 5.30am start to get the cows walked, bedding cleaned and cows fed before the people arrive. It will be even earlier tomorrow as we are in the judging ring at 1.30 so a tidy up wash, dry and hairstyle needs to be fit in also. Met a cow super fan today.
