What a great story!!. I wonder if there any of Mrs Brodericks recipes pasted down.Would be so amazing to see!!
Widow Miriam Broderick (1859-1949) supported herself by running a tuckshop from her cottage at 41 Finniss Street β she sold pies, pasties, sandwiches and lollies to the children from the Catholic and Gawler Primary Schools.
Did your Gawler grandparents tell you about Mrs Brodericks? We are trying to work out the era she operated the tuckshop. Itβs suggested the Deanshaw family may also have been involved.
