It has been some years since I last had a slice from Huntly.
As good as I had remembered too!
Large slice, great textured custard, super thick icing, but in a good way. If the pastry was a tiny bit crispier, it would crack my top 3.

We got the trophy back! 🏆❤️

What a weekend at the National Vanilla Slice Triumph in Merbein!

Getting that trophy back was SUPER SWEET 🍰🏆 After finishing 2nd last year, the team came hungry to reclaim the crown — and they absolutely delivered.

The judges said it was an incredibly close competition this year, which makes the win even more special.

And what an effort from the whole baking team! 👏

So proud of every single one of them. The skill, dedication and hours that go into getting these slices just right is massive.

In NSW for a couple of days and had to try the slice from Finley Bakery.
Small-ish rectangle, thin crispy pastry, and very nice creamy custard. A little heavy on the icing sugar...I made a mess. Reasonably priced at $4.95 for a quality slice. Probably a 7/10.
