This National Science Week, we're celebrating the science, monitoring and collaboration that help support the sustainable management of WA's western rock lobster fishery.

Researchers from DPIRD, UWA and CSIRO are using climate modelling alongside decades of larval settlement monitoring data to better understand and predict future lobster recruitment, helping to inform sustainable fisheries management. Read more from DPIRD here

Today, we’re celebrating a remarkable milestone, with longtime GFC Member Bill Boys turning 100 years young.🥂🤩

Reaching a century is an incredible achievement, and Bill continues to be a wonderful example of staying connected, active and engaged. These photos were taken at GFC's 75th Anniversary celebrations late last year, where Bill was right in the middle of the action, catching up with fellow Members and sharing in the occasion.

Bill has been part of the GFC story for many years, and his connection to the Co-operative reflects the rich history and strong community that continue to shape us today.

On behalf of everyone at GFC, we wish Bill a very happy 100th birthday and thank him for his longstanding contribution to the Co-operative! 🙌

From long-serving legends to new faces, casuals and permanent crew, every team member plays a huge part in our success.
This was our small way to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication—bringing Brolos lobster to the world!

We're proud to have supported Flotsam and Jetsam by Latitude Jewellers 2026, an inspiring exhibition that transforms marine debris from the Abrolhos Islands into meaningful works of art. 🌊
A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers who helped clean the islands, the talented artists and makers who brought discarded marine materials to life, the Flotsam + Jetsam team for creating such a powerful initiative, and the Midwest community for continually rallying behind this important cause. 🤩
