We have our annual Bathurst trip coming up next weekend. We’ll be traveling down on Saturday 20th and can bring any of the following with us if ordered by the Friday night.

- We still have Blue & Splash Australorps in Standard & Bantam sizes however our focus is on our Black Breeding Programs.
- We still have Splash Silkies however our focus is on breeding Whites.
- We do have some left over orders of 2025 for show white call ducks.
- We will have top quality fowl in the Dubbo Poultry Club Auction in 2027.

🌾🏆Warren Ag Show 🏆🌾

While Pagan & Andie were away in Canberra, Chris & Steve handled the shows on the home front and popped over to Warren for their annual Ag Show.

It was another successful outing for the Misty Downs team, results are as follows -

🏆Champion Waterfowl - White Call Female

🏆Reserve Champion Waterfowl - White Muscovy Female

As well as a handful of first and second placings.

Congratulations to David Cleasby on such a well run show. Further congratulations to Dave as this year the as the poultry pavilion was awarded the Presidents Award for best pavilion of the show.

A wonderful day indeed.

The 2026 show season isn't over yet, but it has certainly been an absolute ripper.

Today we received a little box of sweet treats and a heartfelt letter and Andie wanted to share a story about how a small act of kindness can make a world of difference for someone.

Over the past two years Andie has been incredibly fortunate to receive support, guidance and encouragement from many people within the poultry community. This year he had the opportunity to repay that kindness by donating birds and offering a little guidance to two Junior Exhibitors on their own journeys.

Firstly, a big thank you to Chris Mammen for mentioning us to Amelia at Sydney Royal. Although we weren't in attendance Amelia promptly reached out to us. We had unfortunately missed Amelia's 16th birthday by only a few days but we were determined to help get her started with quality birds.
Kim Ellis went above and beyond, organising flights from Dubbo to Sydney and then on to Cairns. Kim also arranged a transport crate which was generously donated by Narele and Roy Higgins. Thanks to the kindness and teamwork of so many wonderful people, a Bantam Black trio was checked into Dubbo Airport at 5:00am on Monday morning and safely arrived in Cairns by 2:00pm that same day.
We also sent a trio of Standard Black Australorps via Critter Coach to a young family of exhibitors in southern Queensland. Andie had been chatting with them for quite some time and it was obvious from the very beginning that they were eager to learn, enthusiastic and passionate about the hobby.

As the Queensland show season begins to kick off, we cannot wait to see how these young exhibitors progress and what the upcoming breeding season produces. Their excitement reminds us all why supporting the next generation is so important.

Sometimes one of the greatest things about our hobby is that success isn't measured only by ribbons and trophies. Sometimes it's measured by sharing knowledge, opening doors and giving someone the confidence to have a go. A few kind words, a helping hand, or the gift of a few birds can inspire a young person to do great things.

We also took part in the Australorp Club of Australia, National Show. The numbers in the classes were simply amazing and even though we didn’t place, our large pullets in the black class caught the judges attention and were pretty happy with that 😁
