🌾🦆 Nyngan Ag Show 🦆🌾

Sunday 17th of May saw Chris & Steve venture over to Nyngan Ag for another year. Nyngan is a great little show to attend and makes for a wonderful day out.

We were blown away to come home with not only Bird of Show with a white Call Duck Male, but also Reserve Bird of Show the a dark Indian Game Cockerel. We also received Reserve champion waterfowl with a buff Orpington female.

We thank the organisers and the judge Chris Mammen. We’re extremely pleased with these results, especially with the Orpingtons & Indians. Being new into both breeds, it’s extremely exciting to be getting such good results and feedback on the birds we are breeding.

Next show on the list is Dubbo Ag!

🦆NSW Waterfowl Breeders Association Show 🦆

We’ve already shared our great success with the Calls but wanted to share a few other photos from the show.

Finally got mum (Chris) to step in front of the camera for a photo with her ribbons. It’s a massive achievement for us to clean sweep all major call awards and as the calls are mums passion, it’s only fair for her to be celebrated with them.

Next is a photo of one of our Buff Orpington females. We are still very new into breeding these beautiful birds but we are already seeing great success with them. We thank The Akers Flock for the opportunity to breed these beauties.

Our Call pair placed second in a large class of pairs.

The final photos are our place cards from the weekend. This is one of our most successful trips south and we can’t wait to do it all over again next year.

These photos are just a small window into the time and dedication that goes into raising exhibition fowls. Misty Downs truly is a family affair and we couldn’t do what we do without all of us stepping up and getting the work done.

Trio of platinum Guinean fowls.

These guys are a red eyed colour and are only young birds, they be laying when spring rolls around.

Normally these guys are 1️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ each but we are offering this trio for 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣.

Collection can be Dubbo or Gilgandra. Also happy to meet transport. Critter Coach or Raggys collect from us often.

A quick outting to Wellington Ag show for Andie.

Congratulations to Robert Scott got BOS with a Bantam Black Australorp Cockerel.
Robert also claimed Second in the Bantam Pullets.
Phil Redding received Second in the Bantam Cockerel Class, First and Second in the Standard Pullet Class.
Andie took home a first place in the Bantam Pullets.
Malcolm Fowler recieved First for Standard Cockerels.

✨ NSW Watwrfowl Breeders Association - Results✨

A couple of days later than planned but here are the first lot of results for the waterfowl show!

We had an absolutely amazing show and were incredibly successful in our endeavours. Many thanks to the Judge, Danny Mackney - calls, Joel Stingle - lights /developments & all the committee members.

✨Dubbo Poultry Club Auction Results ✨

We were absolutely blown away by the popularity of our birds at the auction on Saturday with some absolutely phenomenal prices achieved.

We thank all those who showed interest and had a bid on our lots. Congratulations to the winners and all the best with your future endeavours. We can’t wait to see what you do and how far the birds will take you.

A massive thank you also goes to the Dubbo Poultry club and the Ballimore Auctions team. Without you all, this amazing event would not have been possible.

It won’t be long and breeding season will be on us again but for now, it’s nice to have a few less mouths to feed 😅

A full break down of results to come tomorrow but for now it’s time for these 2 birds & all their ducks to hit the road for home.

A massive thank you to the committee and club members, without you and your massive dedication to the club, these shows simply would not happen.
