Vast Harvest Permaculture Our family started a 25 acre food forest and orchard on our 400 acre property in Girvan NSW. Come follow us on our journey to being self sustainable.

❤️ 𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 ❤️

This beautiful family is part of our church community, and right now they are facing something no family should ever have to face.

Five-year-old Mikey has recently been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a childhood brain cancer. He has already undergone two major brain surgeries and now has a long road of treatment ahead of him.

And amongst all of this, Mikey’s mum and dad are also caring for their brand-new newborn baby, as well as their other children. I honestly can’t imagine the emotional, physical and financial load they are carrying right now.

As a community, this is one of those times when we can come together and help carry a little of that load.

If you are in a position to donate, even a small amount will help with the enormous costs that come with Mikey’s treatment, travel and keeping their family going through the months ahead.

I’m already dreaming of warmer days. ☀️🌸

The kind where the garden is overflowing, flowers are everywhere, the days feel long and there’s always something new blooming, ripening or ready to harvest.

Winter has its place… but I’m definitely ready to see some colour creeping back into the garden.

What are you most looking forward to when the warmer weather returns?
🌸 Flowers everywhere?
🍅 Fresh tomatoes?
☀️ Longer days?
🌱 Getting back into the garden?

We’re always talking about making small changes that have a positive impact.

Sometimes it’s planting another tree.
Sometimes it’s growing your own food.
Sometimes it’s simply choosing products from companies that are trying to do things a little differently.

This tiny Australian native fruit might be small, but it’s packed with flavour! It has a refreshing citrus zing with a hint of sweetness, making it perfect for snacking, desserts, drinks, or adding a burst of flavour to your favourite dishes.

We’re always amazed by the incredible variety of edible plants that can be grown here on the farm. Native foods like this deserve a place in every food forest.

The produce stand at Crafty Friends has had a fresh restock!

This week you’ll find:
• Fresh lemons
• Super sweet mandarins
• Oranges
• Tangelos
• Fresh herbs
• Fresh lemongrass
• Freshly dug turmeric

We’ve also started bringing in plants! At the moment you’ll find:
• Curry Leaf Trees
• Ice Cream Bean Trees
• Lilly Pilly
• Lemon Balm
• Strawberry plants

This is just the beginning. We’ll be adding more plants, trees, seedlings and seasonal produce as they’re ready, so keep an eye on the stand each week to see what’s new.
