What will our 2026 harvest taste like? That's the exciting part... we don't know yet!

Just like wine, coffee can express different flavours depending on where it's grown, the climate, soil, season and how it's processed.

Australian-grown Arabica coffees can reveal characteristics ranging from fruity, nutty and sweet to notes of citrus, apple and berries, with varying acidity, body and finish.

Understanding those flavours is something Paul and Lisa are particularly passionate about. They were involved in a groundbreaking project with Research Fellows Ben Liu and Simon Williams that created a global first, the Australian Coffee Character Wheel.

And now, with our own 2026 harvest underway, we're especially excited to discover what this year's Glasshouse Plantation crop will bring to the cup.

Will it be fruity? Sweet? Nutty? Something completely unexpected?

That's the beauty of harvest... we'll have to wait and taste!

You never know what you'll experience at Glasshouse Plantation... 🎢

This morning, our visitors were treated to something completely unexpected!

Regular visitor Scott Robertson picked up his bagpipes and gave everyone an impromptu performance, filling the plantation with beautiful music. It was the perfect soundtrack to a peaceful morning of Australian-grown coffee, mountain views and great company.

Moments like these can't be planned... and that's what makes them so special.

Thanks Scott, for making everyone's morning one to remember!

Your coffee still isn't a coffee... yet!

Last time we showed you how the coffee cherry ripens. Now it's time to see what happens next.

Once the cherry is picked, the fruit is removed to reveal the bean inside. It then needs to be hulled, exposing the green coffee bean. But there's one more step... a delicate second layer called the silver skin also needs to come off before the bean is ready for roasting.

Here's a fun fact: coffee is traded around the world as a green bean. But once that protective husk is removed, the clock starts ticking and quality begins to decline.

That's one of the biggest advantages of Australian-grown coffee. We can hull and roast it quickly, locking in the delicate flavours that make fresh Arabica coffee so special.

Want to see the journey for yourself? Join us on a Plantation Tour every Friday, Saturday or Sunday and discover what makes Australian-grown coffee so unique.

Ever wondered how your morning coffee begins?

Over the next few weeks, we'll take you behind the scenes of our 2026 coffee harvest and show you the journey from flower to cup.

This little lineup tells quite a story:
🟒 After spring flowering, tiny pinhead cherries begin to form.
🌿 They stay green through summer as they slowly grow.
πŸ’ In autumn, they start turning yellow, then bright red.
πŸ’œ By winter, they're a deep purple and perfectly ripe, ready for harvest here in Southeast Queensland.

Miss the picking window and nature takes over. The cherries continue fermenting on the tree, becoming what's known as a "natural". Leave them too long and they dry out and eventually go mouldy.

There's a lot more to growing great Australian coffee than meets the eye and we're excited to share it with you.

Follow along as harvest continues. There's plenty more to discover!

It's officially harvest season... and we're smiling from ear to ear!

The first coffee cherries of our 2026 harvest were picked on Saturday and if these first rows are anything to go by, we're in for an incredible season.

Compared to last year, the trees are loaded and we're excited about what's ahead. With plenty of beans on the way, we're looking forward to filling even more cups with coffee grown right here at Glasshouse Plantation.

Of course, picking the cherries is only the beginning. Next comes the careful processing that transforms them into the delicious coffee you know and love.

The journey from tree to cup is well underway... and we can't wait to share it with you!

This might be the cutest cafΓ© guest we've ever had!

After conquering Mount Ngungun, the team from Frenchs Forest Veterinary Surgery dropped into Glasshouse Plantation for a well-earned breakfast... and they brought a very special little VIP with them.

Meet Chippy, a 100-day-old brushtail possum, who happily joined carers Kirsty and Anais at the breakfast table.

We love welcoming visitors of all shapes and sizes but this tiny little adventurer may have just stolen everyone's hearts.

Thanks for stopping by, Chippy and the team. You're welcome back anytime!

Dessert for breakfast? We'll allow it.

Who made the rule that cheesecake has to wait until after lunch?

Introducing our NEW Strawberry Cheesecake... made with beautiful local strawberries from Pimsorganics, a rich and creamy filling and a delicious gluten-free chocolate base.

Pair it with a cup of Australian-grown coffee and suddenly your morning (or afternoon!) just got a whole lot sweeter.

But be warned... once people discover this one, it won't stay in the cabinet for long!

Pair it with a cup of Australian-grown coffee, soak up the mountain views and you've got the perfect way to kick off your Friday or ease into the weekend.

Not quite ready to tackle the big one? No worries! We've got plenty of lighter breakfast options waiting for you too.
