It’s brazilian time for these lovely ladies 🐑
Our now freshly manicured girls can go graze fresh grass as they prepare for lambing in a few weeks.

Why are we crutching just before lambing?
We do this for a few reasons. Firstly, we shave the wool around the back end so that any afterbirth or icky stuff doesn’t get caught up on the wool and attract flies. (Us humans are lucky enough to be able to bath or shower so this is the next best we can do for the girls)
Also crutching at this time gives us a chance to drench our sheep with a good multi mineral and worm treatment to ensure they are in tip top condition prior to giving birth. Doing this all at the same time reduces the need to handle them multiple times, reducing stress for them and labour for us. It’s a win win!

We’ve teamed up with our friends at karri_glade_farm_stay and Yanmah Truffles to bring you the finest, freshest local produce straight from the region.

Just a couple of little guys having a go and doing our bit to keep things local! ❤️
