This week, Australia's chemical regulator confirmed paraquat will remain approved for use, despite being banned in more than 70 countries and ongoing concerns about its association with Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson's Australia and leading neurologists have pointed to multiple studies showing an association between paraquat exposure and Parkinson's disease, while the regulator maintains the current evidence does not establish a direct causal link.
The reality is that most Australians are exposed to a growing number of chemicals through food, soil, air and water.
Can you avoid every exposure?
No.
You can't put a filter around your capsicum.
You can't control what's sprayed on neighbouring farms.
You can't remove what's already in the environment.
But you can make informed choices about the water you drink, cook with, shower in and give to your family every day.
Reducing exposure isn't about fear.
It's about control.
