Every mare we breed we vet thoroughly first, breaking and riding for a minimum of 12 months to ensure they have the right traits that we want in our prog

ram. We focus on beautiful soft natured horses, with great type, sound structures and an intelligent nature who show a willingness to learn. A few of the Broodmares we run in our program.

We personally break all of our mares in and work them for 12 month before breeding them, both to make sure they are easy to handle, quiet and settled.

Also to make sure they carry the temperament, ability, softness and trainability that we look for in our horses.

Good feet and structure are key to our breeding program as well, just good all round, competitive and fun, easy to handle horses.

You hear us say “no let down off grain” a fair bit. Here’s what it actually means.

A lot of bulls are pushed hard on grain to look big and shiny on sale day.

Problem is, when that bull lands on your place and has to transition to grass, he falls in a heap. Loses condition, loses libido, his semen is cooked either from grain or the shock of the transition and you’ve lost a whole joining while he adapts to be a normal bull again.

Ours never knew anything but grass. They’ve done 1kg a day on grass year round, so when they walk off the truck there’s no setback — they go straight out and do the job.

That’s the difference between a bull that works for you this season and one you’re waiting on till next.
