As always, if you’re not sure - it’s best practice to keep the prospective kids in - besides the lightest eggs, the others can be quite tricky to candle, and easy enough to confuse saddled with scrambled 😝

Apparently as a small child, my mum tells me, I wanted to live in a zoo. Or run a zoo. 🤔 No doubt before I wanted to be a mechanic - but I digress.

Anyway, be careful of what you wish for or you might just end up with it in your back yard. Shameless posers include Mr Peacock jnr, a splash and a BC Marans and some Cream Legbar and Marans ladies.

They’re quite a rare colour and their eggs are rarely offered with prices in the hundreds of dollars ($600 I believe but I couldn’t even find an offering)

Hi guys!

Let’s all have a little discussion about what is and isn’t appropriate when arranging to pick up your eggs or chicks from any poultry breeder.

So you’re very lucky and you can drop in and pick up some eggs from a breeder - bypassing post. Great! Here are a few pointers to make it a smooth transaction:

*Please adhere to the specified time. Breeders are people too and with lives and a long list of chores. Let the breeder know if you’re running early or late as soon as you know - not at arranged pick up time.
*Arrange pick up by text/messenger - we prefer no phone calls.
*We do not publish our address online - we like our privacy.
*Make the time sensible - 8pm on a Friday or 6am on any day is not a reasonable pick up time.
*If a breeder indicated where they’ll meet you, try to adhere to their instructions and stay in or near your car - we have biosecurity, safety, insurance and other considerations. We do NOT want to find you wandering through our property.
*Do not block the road - pull over on the grass if waiting. Then our neighbours won’t have to scowl at you as they’re trying to get home 🙏🏻

(As a small addendum for the really unusual - smoking and throwing butts into my grass will unleash a side of me you don’t want to see 😅 likewise letting your dog out of the car. Absolute firm NO and you will be refused service and excommunicated)
