Sometimes in life you sit back and wonder, why we all have a level of passion in our everyday life, And also why for some, playing the victim is so easy in todays society.

Professionally,Rachel and I learnt many years ago that the art of success sometimes in business, is to run second but collect as bigger trophy as the winner. Think about that one lol.

The recent media promotion of the Speckle Park Breed via an outstanding podcast from JAD and then the follow up ABC Landline production today should be embraced by every breeder and lover of Speckle Park cattle, many thanks to a few but including but not limited to Minnamurra Speckle Park , JAD Speckle Park and Paul Guy at Temooi.

The Future of the breed is available for all, but and this is a serious BUT every industry needs leaders, dont be afraid to thank the Leaders who will make it possible for ALL breeders to benefit. Dont be afraid to thank the winners who provide you with a trophy for running second.

Just a thought as always i will upset a few self entitled blue bloods but so be it.

A quick paddock pic of Lagoon Urban Cowboy U02 (pending rego) old fashioned pedigree but a heifers first calf and many thanks to MEROM SPECKLE PARK for the opportunity to buy his mum. Reckon i could break him in with a piece of cotton if needed.

Nice calf at 20 months old with no grain just grass and hay, low carbon footprint, easy doing, excellent temperament, feed efficient and easy to handle.

Why wouldnt you buy Speckle Park Cattle.

As a proud SPI member and former board member I can not condone the actions of the current SPI board with the email that was sent to the membership today.

The tone of the email along with the fact that a member has been attacked and ridiculed and persecuted for the rest of the membership to see is a disgrace, it shows narcissistic tendencies along with nepotism at the highest degree.

Having been involved in the corporate world for the last 35 years dealing with multimillion dollar companies, financiers, clients and competitors I am astounded at the new low that has been shown by the board of directors of this company. We are talking about a small breed Cattle society not a massive corporate entity, we are talking about a group of volunteers who should be merely ensuring the integrity of the herd book, and providing services to the very membership which funds its day-to-day Operations. End of story.

The future of breed societies has never been more prevalent than the current time, be carefull what you wish for and remember always who your clients are , who funds your operations and what alternatives are available to your clients.

The member who was persecuted held one of the most successful stud sales for the year, shows a level of compassion for the breed and its members like none other and lives off the rural industry, not a hobby subsidised by off farm income.

I AM TODAY SAD TO SAY I AM A MEMBER OF SPI.
