STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR BEDDING AND BREEDING
1. Place a small coir block in water. Add watered coir block, add shredded paper/cardboard and peat moss a 1/3 mix of each enough to make 10-15 litres of bedding. The bedding should be moist enough that when you squeeze only a few drops come out.
2. Place your worms on top of bedding, let them go down to new bedding (around 20 min under light). Cover with bubble wrap (bubbles down) and cardboard on top.
3. Keep away from direct sunlight, place in a cool dry area 15° - 24° C.
4. Be patient and monitor moisture level should be mist like moisture on walls and feed after 2-3 days in new bedding.
5. Feed lightly every 3-5 days. Can use worm chow, boiled pumpkin, boiled sweet potato, and fruits.
AVOID citrus, meat, dairy.
After about 3 weeks worms should be breeding. You can remove the adult to a new bin and start the cycle again or you can leave them in one bin and let the colony grow. Cocoons will hatch about 4-6 weeks between 2-5 worms each. Colder months could be longer.
