Vision Statement
Sea Soaring Marine aims to provide the highest quality marine training, catering for all learning needs, to enable the client to respond confidently and competently to any situation, thus making the whole boating experience as enjoyable as possible. Sea Soaring Marine was established by director Wayne Baddock, in the heart of the Cape to Cape Region of
Western Australia, Cowaramup Bay, in 2005. Wayne prides himself on providing unique and professional marine training courses. He personally delivers and assesses all courses to ensure the quality of the service provided. "Much more than just a skippers' ticket course" is Wayne's motto and over 3000 clients are testament to this. Courses are customised to suit the wide range of keen boaties in the community, including school students, female participants, indigenous and those new to boating. All skippers ticket courses include tips on how to set up a boat, what to look for when purchasing a boat, launch/retrieval and responding to emergency situations. Wayne has an impressive resume of qualifications and experience that forms the foundation of the business. Wayne's World. Wayne has had a love affair with the ocean all his life, with his major passions being boating, fishing, diving and surfing. He taught secondary students in the South West of WA for over 20 years and the specialist Marine Vocational Program he established in 2000 was widely recognised as one of the most unique courses in the state. Recognition. In recognition of Wayne's outstanding qualities, he was awarded the WA Premier's Teacher of the Year Award in 2005. Knowledge & Experience. Wayne has held many executive positions with the Margaret River Volunteer Marine Rescue Group where he has been able to apply his vast experience for the benefit of local and visiting boaties. He is currently the Training Officer for the Group. His unique ability to combine a wide theoretical knowledge base, with a sense of humour and real life stories, ensures all clients are treated to an experience that is both educational and fun. Wayne travels extensively throughout WA delivering training courses, from Augusta to Kununurra and this has broadened his experiences which he brings to the classroom. His work with indigenous students in the North West has been especially rewarding. He is also a keen photographer, with particularly special images displayed in classes. In 2013 Wayne and his daughter, Lisa, won an incredible trip on a Russian icebreaker, to the Sub Antarctic islands. Within days of being on board, Wayne was skippering zodiacs around these remote islands as part of this research expedition to commemorate Douglas Mawson.
