We are Sam and Kirsty White and along with our sons Abbott and Arthur are the current custodians of the herd and land at Bald Blair Angus. Bald Blair Angus is located 10kms East of Guyra on the Northern Tablelands of NSW. The Whites purchased Bald Blair in 1898 and we have been running the angus stud since 1908, making it one of the oldest angus studs in Australia. We have an annual sale each year

and sold 110 bulls in 2021. Bald Blair is committed to breeding quality value bulls, with a proven pedigree, that are structurally sound, get your cows in calf, are easy to handle, high marbling and are backed by expert advice and support. All bulls offered for sale have undergone a reproductive physical examination and a semen test, including morphology, by our local vet, independent structural soundness by Dick Whale of IBMS, genomically enhanced EBV’s and are sire assured. Thinking back to calving season at Bald Blair, it’s where everything we’ve been breeding for proves itself. Beyond the births and the healthy calves, it’s the management details that matter just as much.

Every calf gets tagged for identification, with a metal birth tag and a management tag, and we record birth weights. At marking we take a TSU sample and all these details add up to better information about our herd and help us make smarter breeding decisions next year.

Quality breeding isn’t just about selecting good animals, it’s about measuring and recording what actually happens in the real world.

Calving is the real test of our breeding program, and the data we gather tells us whether we’re moving in the right direction.

The rain came through and we're bloody grateful. After the dry stretch, it's good to see moisture back in the paddocks and the cattle settling into improved feed.
