Quirran-Lea QH and Paints Quirran-Lea Stud is proudly owned and operated by Ken and Cathy Marsh at Bell's Bridge near Gympie Queensland.

We have been breeding quality performance bred Paints and Quarter Horses since 1975. Many have gone on to become champions, both at state and national level. Our horses are conformationally sound, have great temperaments and are a delight to handle.

We have now had just over 100 ml of beautiful much needed rain,
but the mares paddock is turning into a lake, so have moved the babies up to the top paddock out of the wet.
They seem to approve, although not too sure about my wet weather gear 😜

Misfires filly is doing fabulously, she has been kept separate from the new babies for now, for obvious reasons, but they will get introduced to each other in the next day or so.

After being 3 weeks overdue and a bit over baked,
Quirran-Lea A Little Sassys now 4 day old c**t is feeling a lot stronger and becoming very independent.

This was always going to be Missy's last foal.

At 20 years of age, Missfire gave birth to a beautiful Black filly at 3.25 am this morning.
Although having had numerous trouble free foals, she also was letting me know she wanted this to be her last.

In the last two weeks we have had a few anxious moments and vet call outs to an unusually uncomfortable mare.
Scans indicated she was carrying quite a big foal so the decision was made to foal her out at our vet centre.
A very special thank you goes out to Ben Poole and his amazing team, especially Naomi, at Cooroora Vets, for monitoring Missy around the clock for the last 5 days.

After all the concerns, she had a trouble free foaling, delivering a very healthy, although very big (50 kilo) filly unassisted.

Both mare and foal are doing fabulously.

Good girl Missy, and yes it will be your last 🙏

Little kids learning some tie-up patience so they can then be tied anywhere for any length of time without it being a issue, like the big kids.
