Introducing the Member’s Museum - a collection of back-vintage wines, available for the Jockey Club each week.

These are bottles that tell a deeper story with time - rare releases drawn from our cellar and made available in very limited quantities.

As a Jockey Club member, you receive exclusive access through Lucy’s weekly emails. Each week, a new museum wine is unveiled - available to purchase online for a limited time only, and never released anywhere else. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Choose your pace - 2, 4 or 6 bottles delivered every two months - then personalise your selection through our easy online member portal. Every release is thoughtfully curated by Rob and Lucy, hand-packed by our team, and paired with a new recipe from Heather, so each delivery comes with inspiration for the table.

Hmmmmm...

What do you think our winemaker Rob is deep in thought about in this photo..?

The Final Blend.

The path to creating that final blend of each wine we make is a patient, long, but deeply rewarding process.

Depending on the wine, it all comes down to a series of critical decisions, including:

Which parcels of fruit from which vineyard?

Will barrel maturation improve this wine?

If so, how much time in barrel, and what type of barrels do we use?

Which base wines do we include in the final blend, and which to leave behind?

Which ones are simply a distraction, and which ones truly shine?

It’s that search for the best colour, aromatics, and flavour profile. The palate length, the depth, and the texture Rob is looking for.

Blending is a delicate balance of precision, intuition, and experience.

Thankfully for all of us, Rob’s many decades in the wine game bring an abundance of those crucial aspects to the table.

And into our glasses.

October Vertical Tastings at Somerled

Join Rob and Lucy for two very special vertical tastings this October: a fantastic opportunity to taste, discuss and learn about some cracking Somerled vintage wines!

These intimate, late-morning sessions will be held in our private Members Room. Each tasting is limited to just 12 people.

Your Tasting Experience Includes:

Sparkling wine on arrival (white or red)
Fresh Oysters
Elegant Somerled Platter Luncheon
Hosted by Rob and Lucy

1. McLaren Vale Shiraz Vertical
When: Sunday, October 5th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Wines: A vertical tasting of five vintages: 2003, 2005, 2010, 2014 & 2015 Shiraz.

2. Adelaide Hills Chardonnay & McLaren Vale Shiraz Vertical
When: Sunday, October 12th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Wines: A five-wine tasting featuring our 2008 & 2015 Chardonnay, plus 2003, 2010, & 2015 Shiraz.

Tickets: $130 per person (both)

The coldest of the cold months is now largely behind us up here in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

Time to soak up some of that soothing Spring sunshine when Mother Nature sends us a few good stray rays.

Our beloved Somerled Cellar Bar, on the main street of Hahndorf up in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

Not a cellar door in any normal sense, and not a bar per se: it’s the unique Somerled Cellar Bar.

A place of great wines and food, a place of warmth, of relaxation, a place of comfortable seating and a place to feel comfortable in, a place of good conversations, and a place of lasting friendships.

We are never going to rush you here - it’s just not what the Cellar Bar is about.

Sure, it can sometimes get a little busy when we have one of our gigs on, but, as you know, it’s largely a place where you can just allow yourself to slow down, to forget about time for a while and simply enjoy the good stuff.

And there’s always a steady flow of the good stuff here to go around.

We look forward to seeing you here again sometime soon.
