Pickering Pruning is now available to come and sort out your fruit trees. We had a short break from the farm and now rested and ready for work. Loving the rain we have had so good for our reservoirs. Well it’s been awhile since I posted as not doing anything very exciting other than a road trip to Canberra to see Sunny bubbles. Col has been busy doing new fences since we had the old concrete channel pulled out. Today I planted lots of ranunculus supplied by the beautiful Waiyalet (the amazing flower producer). She is helping me to grow flowers in our hydro set up. All this year I have been experimenting with veggies and having great results. I have also brought back to life a heap of strawberries and have been picking them for the freezer so I will have jam. We are hoping to have flowers for sale in the shed at Xmas but only time will tell. Hope all you lovely mothers have a great day tomorrow🥰

Another season over and not one of our better ones, but hey we can’t have 4 bad ones in a row surely. I would need to write an essay just to thank everybody for their beautiful caring support…lots of hugs. Our team amazing working long stressful hours, we couldn’t do it without you. Sonia, Marsha and Kathy Richardson for all reaching out when we thought there would be no more customers. Only one negative t**t a keyboard warrior who whinged that the service he received was miserable….he is banned from our farm so supermarket cherries for him from now on.
Back to the positives again Colin and I are so incredibly humbled by this amazing community and a lot of our family and friends in Cohuna offering help.
Once we get back to normality we will start our Pickering Pruning of fruit trees so probably catch up with some of our customers then.

I don’t want to panic anyone but we had a big day of sales today and I think that tomorrow could be our last day, probably about 100 kg of sweet hearts left. Unfortunately we are throwing a lot away from insect damage but I want to ensure you we will not spray insecticide on our fruit in the future, just work out other strategies to keep the bugs at bay. Will definitely let you know when sold out. Thank you amazing community.

Firstly yes we are open and it’s east access to us. We now have limited supple left of Lapin, Simone and Sweet Georgia so thinking they may run out today or tomorrow. We finally finished picking the Sweethearts today but they have been monstered by bugs and Colin estimates they have dropped 80%. Not a big crop coming in. I’m thinking at a rough guess we may only have around 300 kg left so the season could end this week. We planned to do Lancefield & District Farmers' Market but after losing the tonne of Simone’s at the Harcourt Coop our season is going to be cut short, we apologise that we can’t get there.
I will update when we are down to 100 bags left.

Hello wonderful community, just an update. Yes we are open unlike the roads off the freeway. We are honestly surrounded by morons. What idiots keep deciding to shut the entrance off the freeway. There is no danger to anyone to the entrance to McIvor road. Any customers we had today drove around and through the traffic cones. Spoke to the chief traffic officer and he wasn’t aware and as usual contacting our local members of parliament…..crickets. We are totally fed up with the idiotic stupid decision making of disconnected fools that we have to deal with. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the above mentioned bubble livers. On a more positive note we will be at the Castlemaine Farmers' Market tomorrow afternoon if they let us out of our driveway.

Finally an update, I am at my daughters as no power or internet at home, so sorry for not replying. We are open as have a coolroom full of cherries and still picking the sweet Georgias and sweethearts. Its just an issue to get to us. Yesterday people came down the freeway and could get to us on McIvor road. Obviously Harcourt is closed. I don’t know about the back way, I got through to come to Strathfieldsaye, but I think it will be closed going into Harcourt. Colin and I are so humbled by the beautiful loving messages of support from everyone, we really came out unscathed except the loss of cherries at the Co-op which compared to a lot is nothing. Next Saturday we are going to Riddells Creek Farmers Market once we figure out how to get there, so hoping people will be out and about. Again we thank our wonderful community.🥰

Hey Everyone just letting you know that Col and I and the Orchard are safe. I’m doing this from my daughters house as have no power at home so not much communication at all. We are working on getting a generator for the coolroom so at least we can salvage the cherries there. We will be home but I doubt that you can get thru and they are also saying be prepared to leave if it flares up again. It was so lovely to receive so many caring messages. We have the best customers and friends.

Still have heaps of Simone and Lapins, will start looking at Sweet Georgia on the weekend. Not going near the cherry trees for the next 3 days just keeping the water up. We will be attending the Maldon Market on Sunday which will be nicer weather. Still open everyday from 9 til 5. All cherries are $18 a kg.
