We made the trip to gidgegannup show on Saturday for the 3rd year in a row and what a show it was!! The goats handled it extremely well lapping up all of the attention from the spectators walking through the goat shed. A huge shout out to my dad Len and one of my dearest friends Emma for helping with the goats and keeping me sane during the rush of changing goats for the show ring.

We took a group of 14 goats with us. Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to take many photos due to lack of free hands.

It’s been an absolutely glorious week with sunshine and warm weather here in Wa, safe to say both the goats and the humans have thoroughly enjoyed the change. The kids came in for their first vaccinations and the bucks castrated. A lot of these kids sitting in the 16-18 kg range with one stand out boy weighing 21 kg at just 8 weeks! Very excited to see how this group of kids grow.

In the midst of the 15 does within 4 days we had this tiny little 1.5 kg girl born out of a set of triplets. Born a third of the size of her brothers we made the decision to pull her and bring her into the house to keep her warm and her belly full without having to fight for a teat on her mum. She has now turned into a very privileged little house goat who has tripled in size and enjoys going to “goat daycare” during the day to socialise with all of the other babies.

Well kidding season got a bit more intense so the individual photos went out the wayside… another 15 girls have dropped ...

Well kidding season got a bit more intense so the individual photos went out the wayside… another 15 girls have dropped within 4 days for a total of 59 kids on the ground out of 27 does. We currently have 25 doe kids and 34 buck kids with another 2 does due this week and an odd one out in Nov.

12 down but still another 18 to go with a current kid count of 26, 11 does and 15 bucks.
