Fantastic to see positive news about the Merino industry with people having good enough results from their Merinos to lift Merino numbers, in defiance of an industry trend.
When Michael Elmes, one of our trusted stud advisors, told us about this last year, as one of his and our ram buyers was expanding, we passed this good news onto Brett Tindal who spoke to Michael Elmes and submitted the article to the Top Sire magazine.
It backed up the confidence we saw at the Jerilderie Sheep Sale last year where nearly every Woodpark Poll blood pen at the sale, sold to other Woodpark Poll blood breeders, lifting ewe numbers despite the low sheep and wool prices of the time.

An increasing number of farmers are seeking to mitigate risk on-farm
by lifting Merino numbers within their mixed farming operations in a bid to
balance the books and generate cash flow more evenly across the year.

A good news story about sheep profitability in the West (a bit further west than us ...). It's fantastic to hear some good news from the state, which has been doing it tough, and reflects what Stephen has been hearing from clients and sharing closer to home. The Box Seat sounds a good spot to be.

It was a fantastic day when the Riverina Merino studs returned to Conargo, iconic home of the modern Merino, a fortnight ago.
Speaking of which, these modern Poll Merinos will be returning to Conargo again for our annual ram auction on Monday September 22. Ram catalogue going up on our website shortly.
Thanks to all the organisers and participants and attendees of the Riverina Sheep & Wool Expo, a huge ask to get this up in a tough year and we are so grateful to those who made the effort to come out to the event.

Have just had a terrific two days at the amazing facility at Fletcher International with the Australian Merino Production Trial, which we and two client flocks are among the 75 participating flocks.
A great learning experience and fantastic to spend time with others who are keen to find out as much as they can about their sheep and industry. Really exciting to be there.
