Tomorrow, Friday 2 October 2026, marks the final sale at the Jerilderie Saleyards, bringing to a close an important chapter in our area's agricultural history.
For generations, the saleyards have been more than a place of trade. They have been a meeting place for producers, families, agents, buyers, volunteers and community members, playing a significant role in shaping Jerilderie and the surrounding district.
As we farewell the yards, we thank everyone who has contributed to their success over the years. From the many producers who brought stock through the gates, to the sheep breeders, agents, contractors, workers and volunteers who helped keep the yards operating, your contribution has helped build a lasting legacy.
We recognise and thank the Jerilderie District Sheep Breeders and all those involved in the John Wells Memorial Jerilderie Sheep Sale, which has proudly celebrated the region's merino industry for the past 25 years.
Thank you for the memories, the friendships and the contribution you've made to Jerilderie's agricultural story.
