Banksia Grove Wine Banksia Grove is a family owned and run vineyard situated on the Heathcote-Redesdale Road, just two kilometres from the Heathcote Township.

Planted in the 1970s, the vines have thrived during the property’s extensive redevelopment. 2002 marked the first release of Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon under the vineyard’s own ‘Banksia Grove’ label. The vines are hand tended and the fruit produced under natural conditions. The unique Terroir of the Heathcote area, and the mild, dry climate come together to produce world class wines

. The exclusive use of French Oak further enhances the subtle complexity and long term aging potential of the wines.

2005 Banksia Grove Shiraz : This Shiraz shows delightful pepper aromas enhanced by French oak maturation. The palate displays the intense mocha and licorice flavours you would expect to find on a classic Heathcote Shiraz. This wine features in James Hallidays 2011 Wine Companion Rating 90/100

2005 Banksia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon:The restrained herbaceous aromas of the Cabernet grape combined with maturation in French oak are a perfect foil for the rich and complex berry flavours on the palate. Whilst drinking well now this wine will undergo further improvement over the next 6 years.

2006 Banksia Grove Chardonnay: Among the first vines planted was a small area of Chardonnay. Our Heathcote Terroir together with the old hand tended vines produces unique Chardonnay varietal characteristics. Picked at optimum ripeness and barrel fermented in French oak barriques this Chardonnay displays peachy stone fruit aromas with a fine yet full flavoured palate.
