This is my final post for You Heat You Eat, after 5 years we are closing our doors, definitely not our choice, all part of the high's and low's of doing business.
I am immensely proud of what we have achieved, from a concept 10 years ago, the first 5 years being at Fresh Tasty Fast (2016 - 2021) Eli Waters, then expanding to You Heat You Eat (2021 -2026) Main Street.
Since expanding to Main Street 5 years ago we achieved:
1950 followers on facebook
639 registered Aged Care & NDIS packages over 39 agencies,
260 Menus
124 Meal Recipe's
Over 312,000 meals
39,000 desserts
The numbers blow my mind, never in my wildest dreams did I think my little shop with a unique concept in Hervey Bay could boast such stats.

My final acknowledgement I would like to give is to my Work Wife Nakeeta, 9 years ago I was fortunate enough to have a young energetic lady bounce through my doors telling me I needed to employ her, turned out she was right, Nakeeta has been the face and service of You Heat You Eat, everyday she shows up ready to give her all, I defy anyone to show me a better customer service provider than Nakeeta, and after 39, 000 desserts would definitely be the Dessert Queen of Hervey Bay, possibly Queensland or even Australia, perhaps the World. I have been blessed as a business owner to have her in my corner.

What a perfect Autumn day. Hope you all have found time to enjoy this long weekend.

Thank you for the fantastic support last week, we navigated our way through an extremely busy week after starting from scratch.

Here we are at the shop cleaning everything down after throwing all our food out yesterday.

Just when you think nothing can get worse, came in to the shop this morning and our power has tripped and all our food has to be thrown out, this is the 4th time in 5 years I have had to throw thousands of dollars of food out. NO FOOD available for the week.

After five wonderful years, the time has come for us to close the doors of You Heat You Eat.

This has not been an easy decision. Our lease will not be renewed, and as a result we’ll be finishing up on the 15th May 2026. While this chapter is coming to an end, please know there’s nothing for anyone to be concerned about — sometimes these things are simply part of the journey in small business.

What we feel most strongly right now is gratitude.

To every customer who walked through our doors, shared a kind word, recommended us to a friend, grabbed a quick meal on a busy day, or made us part of your weekly routine — thank you. Your support over the past five years has meant more than we can ever fully express. You Heat You Eat has been built on community, and we have been so lucky to have yours.

We are incredibly proud of what we created together — the conversations, the laughter, the familiar faces, and the trust you placed in us.

Thank you for being part of our story, and hope to see as many of you as possible before we close this chapter.

Sitting here thinking how fast something a world away can affect us here in Hervey Bay, the inflation of fuel prices has certainly had an effect and would guess that easter is going to be very lean in the way of tourist. Not good for small business.
