Hillwood Berries is a 2nd generation family owned commercial berry farm growing four types of berries; Strawberry, Blackberry, Blueberry and Raspberry. In June 2011, Hillwood Berries were given a significant opportunity to grow Strawberries under a contract for a major national distributor (Driscolls). The company established a commercial growing operation covering two hectares, utilising leading

edge under cover and packing technology at our site in Hillwood, Tasmania. A further four hectares of Strawberries were developed and grown under cover in 2013, providing a total of six hectares of undercover Strawberry production. Hillwood Berries went on to identify opportunities to implement its strategic plan by further expanding to seventeen hectares, its berry production and has now changed to tabletop style of growing using hydroponic media.
