MIDWEEK MAKEOVERS ✨

We may have missed our Wednesday deadline, but alas- this is a goodie not to be scrolled past 🔽🔽

From an L-shaped layout to a beautifully reimagined heart of the home.

Our original kitchen once wrapped around in an L-shape, with a doorway leading into what we now call our media room. By reshuffling the configuration, we completely transformed the flow of the space—while still holding onto what we loved most.

We kept all of the original cabinetry (something we’re so glad we did), adding a few thoughtful extensions to maintain a seamless look and feel. To elevate it, we had everything 2-pack sprayed in Black Japan, allowing the original timber to still shine through with warmth and character.

Designed by .ai in collaboration with Acclaim Kitchens, the space now feels both refined and grounded. One of our favourite features is the new range hood, custom clad in reclaimed local timber—the same timber carried through into our bathroom for a cohesive, natural touch. The ledge is also a special detail—crafted from reclaimed roof structure timber from the renovation, using the original Tasmanian oak from the initial build.

MIDWEEK MAKEOVERS ⚒️

Here we are with arguably our favourite part of MCF - the sauna. Designed, engineered and built by none other than MCF mastermind .

From “bus shelter” (aka an old garden shed… with zero buses in sight) to a fully functioning sauna — and lucky for us, it already came with a concrete slab!

The process went a little something like this (so he tells me 😅):
• Building wrap from
• H3 treated pine framing
• Foil board insulation within the framing
• Double glazed windows sourced from Facebook Marketplace + cutouts for window panes
• Reflective sauna foil wrap from
• Hardwood battens installed over the foil wrap
• Internal lining in Western Red Cedar 🌿
• Bench seats made from MCF milled charred pine
• Heavy-duty drawer slide door, finished with repurposed timber from the shed bathroom (originally from Collinsvale Hut)
• Sauna light + heater from

Got all that?

He’s always happy to chat about the process if you’re thinking of building your own!

MIDWEEK MAKEOVERS are back baby ⚒️

This week we are featuring bathroom # 2.

The original bathroom was most likely an outhouse, however this bathroom (swipe for when we purchased) was a recent renovation with zero insulation 🥶.
ai designed this bathroom with earthy tile tones to complement the dark pine lined interiors. Again, we repurposed the milled pine for this bathroom from trees originally onsite, and utilised the original structure of the old bathroom, toilet area and windows.

The space is now cosy with underfloor heating, heated towel rails and dimmed lighting - along with a tonne of insulation. It serves as an ensuite to the main king bedroom and media area, tucked behind a sliding door.

What if your next creative project came with a luxury homestead, outdoor bath, and acres of native gardens?

Introducing the Myrtle Creek Creative Exchange!

This off-season we’re opening Myrtle Creek Farm to creatives, makers and storytellers who want to spend time on the land and contribute to its evolving story.

We’re looking for people with interesting skills — gardeners, builders, artists, photographers, filmmakers, designers, landscapers and other creative minds.

In exchange for contributing to projects around the farm, you’ll receive a stay in our 3-bedroom architecturally designed homestead, with private access to the property, outdoor bath and acres of native gardens.

Projects could include landscaping, creating secluded spaces to slow down, building a community vegetable garden, revitalising fire pits, art installations, or helping convert our old chook pen into a creative space.

Residents will also help document their process so we can share the journey of Myrtle Creek Farm.

We’re open to ideas and will support reasonable materials where needed.

✨ Tag and share this with your creative friends.

If you’re interested, DM us with:

We can’t wait to meet you and see what we create together.

Two chairs on the verandah, front row seats to the world drifting by.

Sipping a hot cuppa as summer softens into autumn, leaves just beginning to turn and the evenings growing a little crisper. A beautiful woolen rug over your lap, birdsong in the air, and the gentle sound of running water in the background.

Slow moments. Simple comforts. Bookings in autumn are the season to slow down. 🤎

Make this your 2026 resolution.
Outdoor baths under open skies.
Records spinning by the fire.
Morning coffee overlooking a bubbling creek.
Long saunas after mountain days that leave you pleasantly tired.
Less rushing. More feeling.
MCF is waiting.

Introducing a few of the wonderful humans who help make your MCF stay that little bit more magical.

First up is .and.wiser — our mobile massage partner bringing deep rest to you. Unwind without leaving the property! Think warm oils, slow breaths, and the gentle soundtrack of the creek and birds just outside your door. Pure heaven.

We’re also thrilled to share that your fresh bread and sweet treats come from local - the talent behind the warm loaves and little goodies waiting for you on arrival. Crafted with love, baked locally, and the perfect welcome to Myrtle Creek Farm.

More details to come — but we can’t wait for you to experience the extra touches that make staying at MCF feel like coming home.

DM us for any questions for bookings! Jan is almost booked out, with December booking mighty quickly.

✨ Midweek Makeovers ✨

Welcome to our new Wednesday ritual at Myrtle Creek Farm — Midweek Makeovers.

Every week, we’ll be sharing a little before-and-after magic: the makings of MCF, the corners we’ve restored, and the lessons we’ve picked up along the way. From small wins to big transformations, it’s all part of shaping this place into the slow-living sanctuary we dreamed of.

We’re kicking things off with a favourite:

The cast-iron bath we found on Marketplace… sitting in someone’s paddock, waiting for a new life.

The process? Simple(ish)….

Scrubbed it clean, removed the rust from the tub and its claw feet, sealed the metal, then finished with metal paint and a porcelain bath coating.

Be prepared, this was a week long process, and it must be done in a well ventilated area. We battled with rain wind and snow so it took a while in Tasmanian winter.

Now she’s ready for mountain views and long, slow soaks.

DM us if you have questions- always happy to help, and stay tuned for our next instalment… How to transform a garden shed into a sauna!

Picture this: You’ve just checked into your Airbnb in the soft glow of a Tasmanian afternoon.

The sun dips behind drifting clouds, the air cool and clean (because… Tasmania).

The last cherry blossoms scatter across the ground — a pink, fairytale carpet under your feet.

You wander through fern-fringed paths to an old shed reborn as a wellness sanctuary:
a steaming spa, an outdoor bath, a place where time slows down.

With no plans except to breathe, to look out over the mountains,
to listen to the hush of green,

and to let the water take whatever weight you’ve been carrying.

That’s Myrtle Creek Farm.
