A sad time for Tassie beer.
For generations, a visit to Launceston wasn't complete without a stop at Boags. Boags brewery has been part of Tasmania's brewing story for longer than any of us have been around, and it's never nice to see a chapter close, especially for the Tasmanian families who work there.
That said, beer drinkers still need beer, so in the spirit of keeping Tassie pints flowing, here's our completely unofficial "What Spotty Dog should I drink now?" guide:
🍺Like Boags ### Ale? >Try our TEN Pale Lager
🍺Like Boags Draught? >Try our TEN Pale Lager🍺Like Boags Premium? >Have you tried our TEN Pale Lager? 😉
… feeling really brave? You could even try Portland… it’s this crazy thing called a Pale Ale 😜
Now, before anyone says, "I don't drink craft beer because it tastes like flowers and has too many words on the can.” Don’t worry. We haven’t dry-hopped it with bubblegum, marshmallows and interpretive dance 😄 Our lager is still a lager. Just good beer, brewed fresh in Tasmania, by Tasmanians and owned by fellow Tasmanians.
Will they taste exactly the same? Absolutely not.
Will they be brewed by people who spend far too much time talking about beer? Absolutely.
Here's to the brewers, staff and everyone who's been part of the Boags story 🍻
