Marky’s Filipino Tocino

Filipino Tocino has long been a favourite Filipino dish since the time of the Spanish era back in the Philippines. It is known for its sweet and savoury taste and normally cooked during breakfast with fried eggs and garlic rice.

The pork is cured with salt, sugar and annatto (natural colouring giving its reddish-pink colour). It is then cooked by boiling with small amount of water and then pan fried to make it soft and allowing the decadent flavour to come out.

Marky’s Filipino Tocino is a special home-made recipe made with local ingredients. It is made with fresh Tasmanian Pork and good quality ingredients and spices. It is cured for 48 - 72 hours, packed and frozen ready to cook either directly pan fried or by boiling and then pan fried.

It has gained popularity amongst the Filipino community in Hobart as well as local Tasmanians. This was evident during the 2019 Moonah Taste of the World Festival, where we participated and got SOLD OUT early.
