Happy Birthday to us! Wow, that 12 months went by fast! What a journey to date. Excited for what the next 12 months will bring. A genuine thank you to everyone who has supported us, backed us, shared our products, given feedback, criticised us, doubted us or even mocked us along the way. WTAF! Somehow a Tasmanian chicken salt brand has been named a Finalist in the Australian Small Business Champion Awards 2026.

This started as a random idea about making better chicken salt… and now it’s a thing. An actual thing.

Thanks to everyone buying it, sharing it, putting it on everything and generally backing the madness.

Let’s see where this goes.

At Salty Chook Co we want to give a shout out to the incredible women we see across our community every day.

From the café legends pulling early morning coffees, to the food van operators serving up late night feeds, to the mums, daughters, sisters, partners and business owners who keep everything moving.

Small business, hospitality and local communities simply would not run without you.

We also reckon the best communities are the ones where everyone feels like they belong, can be themselves and are treated with respect.

So today we raise a packet of chicken salt to the women doing amazing things every day.

At around 8,000 SHU, it brings jalapeño-level heat while still delivering the signature Salty Chook Co. chicken salt flavour.

Now sitting alongside our Original and Black Label, this one is perfect for cooking, finishing, or spicing up any meal.
