Yay, it's hump day, and only five more till Christmas. Wow! Doesn't it sneak up on you. But there is still time, and while you are thinking about the festive season menu, what about some of our smoked salmon on some fresh crusty Blue Wren sourdough and washed down with a Norton Estate Rose! Really? Yes. So the bread arrives tomorrow afternoon, we have the salmon and wine on the shelves, along with all the other quality fresh meats and smallgoods (Australian free range pork, of course!). So it's hump day again. 83 days after a fog is supposed to bring rain. Okay! Well 4 days after this hump day brings fathers day. Remember him; how do you repay his time with you? Dinner out? Maybe a nice ribeye or piece of wagyu rump. A bottle of red to go with it. Free range Australian bacon and eggs for brunch? The meat market. Your covered. ❤️ 🥩

Those wonderful last days of winter; 4 seasons in one day , or is it 6? Still cold, need warming up. What about a quick grill? Today we have free range rindless pork loin chops at only $14.99/kg. Too cheap for this quality, but hey, you need something to start off a weekend of football / netball finals , or just an easy warming dinner. Panfry in a heavy based pan, deglaze with a bit of water and white wine then stir in some cream and wholegrain mustard for a delicious gravy. Hungry? we'll feed you.

It's hump day. Half way there. Local football/netball finals are up and running. Great dose of rain. Cold wet morning? Sourdough toast from Blue Wren bakery is a great way to start. Or bacon and eggs on a slice of toasted sourdough. Meat market free range bacon; Australian pork only of course. We will also have our chicken and green peppercorn cabana back on the shelf after smoking a new batch last night.
