As some of our followers know, I have always been a firery advocate when it comes to our Heritage Kosciusko Brumbies and the governments decision to eradication our beautiful icons. For our new followers. Welcome.
Management, yes it is needed, and the government dropped the ball on managing numbers over many years.
Yes all hard hooved animals can harm and damage. But here is where it gets twisted. The vast and long country side out there allows damage to remain low, as herds are always traveling.
If the government put as much effort in to manage other hard hooved animals such as deer, pigs as there numbers are well and truely out of control. The damage would dramatically decrease.
There is enough land there for all to live harmoniously with minimal damage.
However the government has used this excuse to continually lie about the numbers of brumbies in the Kosciusko national park. Forgetting the other animals as mentioned above.
The recent excuse behind this new ordered in unhumane aerial culling this month was, there has been a spike in number in the last 12 months.
Which is biologically impossible!
Theyl use any excuse to eradicate them all together.
I asked Chat GPG, to create a raw image that shows the pain I experience with it comes to these beautiful creatures. And boy did it deliver. And im sure many can relate to this pain.
What I dont understand the most, is there has not been any genuine communication with the countrymen and countrywoman who have lived and breathed the beautiful area we call the high country in which is rich of beautiful history. Who also advocate for the brumbies and who have very real and feasible options. If only the people in government remembered their humble beginnings and that they are human also. In which they forget in there big city offices. Ordering shooters from helicopters to destroy our beautiful history.
And once its gone, its gone.
Bit by bit we are loosing acsess, being locked out of national parks, rules up your eyeballs if you want to camp, you also need to pay to camp now. Eperienceing our country's beautiful and the creatures around will never be the same.
This is not Australia, and its so painful to watch the destruction of our beautiful brumbies and more. The brumbies are just the start. They wont stop here.
Everyone has the right to their opinions.
And I respect that, and I ask for that respect to be returned.
This post is not an invitation to argue with others opinions. We are obviously big advocates, and have studied and researched and will die by our decision to defend them.
Please respect our views, even if you disagree.
Normalise still getting along with people with differences of opinions. π«Ά
