A note from me, Claire, Co-Owner of Flamin Galah.
Stacey has been my friend since our Vincentia High School days back in the early 2000s. We grew up together, and seeing her now facing a brain cancer diagnosis at just 39 years old and having to step back from her small business while receiving treatment has been incredibly hard. She’s always been the kind of person who shows up for everyone else, and now she’s the one who needs the community around her.
In Stacey’s honour, this Saturday I’m hosting a fundraiser raffle at Flamin Galah to help ease even a fraction of the financial weight she’s carrying right now. The generosity from local businesses has honestly blown me away, people have shown up with open hearts and incredible donations. Now I’m asking our community to show up too.
Come down Saturday 29th August, have a drink from the charity keg, throw in a minimum $10 schooner donation (or whatever you can, the record is $1000), grab some raffle tickets, and help me send every cent raised through the raffle and charity keg, straight to Stacey.
Buy tickets all week over the bar, even if you can’t be here Saturday, put your name and number on it. We will also be selling tickets from 12-3pm with the raffle drawn at 3.30pm before the musician starts.
I’m incredibly proud to have grown up in Jervis Bay and over the years at the brewery we’ve helped many community members and their families raise money for some amazing causes. It is a privilege to have such a special platform that we can use to create awareness and support those who need it at their darkest moments.
We brew for the community that built us.
See ya at The Galah
Claire ❤️
