Where the Yearling Bulls go, the Optiweigh follows!!
Our Optiweigh has been following the bulls from paddock to paddock since they were weaned in mid January at 5 to 6 months of age. It's allowing us to keep track of their post weaning performance, weight gain and health - valuable mob and individual data we will monitor daily right up to sale day on 9th September.
94% of the mob have hopped on for a weigh (they're curious young gents!), and at present as a mob are tracking at a very pleasing ADG of 1.6kg/day with none taking a backwards step since their early weaning.

An ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who supported our 13th Annual Bull Sale held in conjunction with our Stage 2 Traditional Simmental Female Sale last Wednesday, 10th September. We were both hugely proud and validated by the support and demand for our Simmental genetics. A special shout out to the fantastic crowd here on the day; the weather was challenging at times, so we are grateful for all who travelled huge distances to inspect and bid with spirit on our bulls and females; with demand buoyed by the 124 registered online bidders. In the wrap up of the day, bulls and heifers were sold into five states and are now on their way to join progressive stud and commercial herds across Australia, with a big number of repeat buyers in attendance, joined by a welcome number of new buyers.
In summary, the Black Yearling Bulls sold to a top of $14,000 to Southern Black Simmentals to average $8,060, the Traditional Yearling Bulls sold to a top of $27,000 to Streeter Grazing to average $9857, the Traditional Heifers with CAF sold to $20,000 to average $11,333, and the Traditional Yearling Heifers sold to $21,000 twice to Hartfield Simmentals and Tullayr Simmentals to average $7698 with a 100% clearance of the 62 females on offer.
