The Wooden Spoon aims to create gluten free treats using quality ingredients that never compromise on taste. A number of years ago I found out I was gluten intolerant so of course everything in my diet had to be adjusted. I noticed that cafes everywhere were always stocking the same gluten free products, without a doubt there was always Orange and Almond cake, and I thought to myself 'surely it can be better then this'. Why should all the delicious, tantalising, mouth watering treats be off limits? I must say, things have got significantly better over the years, but in my opinion there still isn't a large variety, especially in Emerald and especially not home baked. So I decided to start experimenting. As I was baking quantities larger then what I could eat myself, I had to start giving it away and I realised that I wasn't the only one missing going out for a coffee and being able to have my cake as well (and eat it too). I love knowing that nothing has to be of limits and I want everybody else to feel the same as well. So I have created 'The Wooden Spoon'. I will be starting from scratch and going through all of my old favourites while finding new recipes to try. These will be available to try and buy. In the not too distant future I plan on going to the markets and then hopefully getting my goodies into a local coffee shop in town. I want you all to taste just how good gluten free can be and that you don't have to go to the big smoke to get it :)
