There is NO question that big-hearted early adopters, visionaries, true leaders and philanthropists are the reason Sober in the Country is where it is today. None whatsoever.
What we do, and have done, is to tackle the hardest topic of all time in the hardest-to-reach demographic of all time, against such tremendous odds.
For 13 years, we've built a conversation, brick by *painstaking* brick, along with solutions, to equip outback Australia with the tools to have this complex conversation in a non-judgemental, user-friendly manner that appeals to absolutely everyone, regardless of whether they're non-drinkers, sometimes-drinkers, or daily drinkers.
Our message is about mateship, respect, choice, and social inclusion.
When we tackle the 'alcohol conversation' front on, we're addressing an entire myriad of issues impacting the rural sector and preventing so much harm: from su***de, to farm safety, disaster recovery, isolation, health, mental health, DV, safer stations, and more.
In addition to empowering the outback with the nuanced message, we support hundreds of isolated people ditching or cutting back on alcohol, and channelling those who need a bigger hand to the right places.
We can no longer quantify our social impact.
And all this is only because of the huge hearts of our major funding partners, including The Snow Foundation, The Shine On Foundation, and most recently, The Helen and David Hains Foundation. Plus, of course, our incredible 'boots-on-the-ground' donors from Big Ag to everyday rural people.
So we are THRILLED beyond measure to share that our next major body of work is 'SITC's Next Gen of Voices' - which is us equipping future leaders to carry this piece forward as a legacy, well beyond us. Thanks to The Shine On Foundation.
