🎶🌿 Judbury Market is back after the winter break — and we’re returning with something truly special.
This Sunday 13 September, our market comes alive again with the sound of Montz Matsumoto, performing live throughout the day in Calvert Park ❤️.

If you’ve never heard Montz play, you’re in for a treat. His music blends bluegrass banjo, Japanese folk influences, and South Indian rhythmic traditions, creating a sound that’s both soulful and electrifying. Born in Japan, Montz began playing banjo at 15 and went on to collaborate with dancers, traditional musicians, and artists across Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia. He’s toured with bluegrass legend Peter Rowan, studied Carnatic rhythm in Chennai, and performed at major festivals across Australia — from Woodford Folk Festival to Cygnet Folk Festival and the Huon Valley Mid‑Winter Festival.

Since moving to Australia in 2002, Montz has become a beloved part of the folk and bluegrass scene, winning multiple awards, releasing acclaimed albums, and performing with bands including Voicestrings, The Pigs, and Pete Denahy’s Bluegrass Breakfast Show. Here in Tasmania, he shares his music wherever he can — and this Sunday, that’s right here in Judbury.

Come settle in under the trees, wander the stalls, and let Montz’s music carry you through the day.

After the winter break, the Judbury Market is starting back up — and one familiar favourite returns with us. Pam’s Pantry, with her beautiful old‑fashioned cakes, all packed ready for you to take home and enjoy. The kind of cakes that feel like childhood afternoons, school fetes, and country kitchens where everything was made with care. Pam’s been part of our market family for years, and her stall is one people always look for. So make sure you head there first in case she sells out of your favourite.

Inside the Judbury Community Centre, you’ll find a warm bustle of stalls — and just outside, there is a deck overlooking the Huon River, it's the perfect place to pause with a bite to eat, from one of our food vans and watch the water run.

A big line‑up of stalls fills Calvert Park, music drifting from Montz Matsumoto, and friendly dogs on leads welcome outside — all the familiar pieces of a proper Judbury Sunday.

🌈 Resin Made with Love By Yvie — Back at the Judbury Market!

We’re opening our first Judbury Market after the winter break with a burst of colour and creativity from one of our youngest makers.

Meet Yvie!
She’s 9 years old, full of bright ideas, and runs Resin Made with Love By Yvie with a little help from her mum. Yvie loves experimenting with resin — colours, glitter, shapes, dragons, jewellery, notebooks, trinket dishes, and all sorts of fun creations that come straight from her imagination.

One of her favourite things about having a stall is seeing other kids get excited when they spot something they really love. That moment of “oh wow!” makes her happy too — it’s what she looks forward to most on market day.

Yvie is super excited to be back at Judbury Market and can’t wait to show everyone what she’s been making over the break. If you love sparkly things, colourful treasures, or supporting our brilliant young makers, make sure you stop by and say hi.
