🐝💛 A little reminder from the hive!

Keep doing good, spread a little sweetness and help good things grow. 🍯🌼

Life’s too short to waste your energy on negativity when you could be busy making a difference!

🐝 A little bee magic happening in FNQ! 🌴

While we’re enjoying the sunshine, our girls are busy doing some very important work — pollinating mango and avocado crops across Far North Queensland. 🥭🥑

Every trip from flower to flower helps support the fruit we love and keeps our local orchards thriving.

It’s a busy time of year for the bees… and we couldn’t be prouder of these little workers! 🐝💛

Small bees. Big job. 🌿

The AHBIC has suggested that the bee pollination schedule for this year is 290,000 commercial hives short and Southern states are trucking road trains full of bees from Western Australia to get the Almond pollination done ….. things aren’t looking good

Every harvest begins with a single pollinator. 🐝 Without bees, flowers fade, crops fail, and nature's balance is at risk. Protect the tiny wings that keep our world alive—because saving bees means protecting tomorrow. 🌼💛

Asian honey bees! How to spot them……. Apis Cerana or the Asian honey bee is significantly smaller than the European Honey bee - about 10mm versus 15mm.
As you can see from the side by side, the thorax is quite different and Asian honey bees are significantly less hairy ( on the left)
Apis Cerana Javana ( the most common variety in FNQ) is a category 1 restricted matter under Biosecurity Queensland and must be reported to BQ on 132523.
If your not sure send us the best picture you can and we will assist in identification.

Hi everyone - just introducing ourselves, FNQ beekeeping is the culmination of 20 years of beekeeping across 3 states and we have now settled here in beautiful Port Douglas to start anew. We will be building a pollination and honey service here in the Far North but we will also be an advocate for the bee industry and an educator on all things bees. 1 out of every three bites of food on your table is brought to you by the honey bee and this year the industry is an estimated 290,000 commercial hives short for pollination services !!!!! 🤯 if you want an amazing range of food in your supermarket we need to support the bee industry.
By the way we will also be doing swarm removals so follow our page and send us a message if you need a swarm dealt with 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
